Eight years ago, my newborn baby was diagnosed with eczema when he was 2 months old. The doctors gave me all kinds of ointments for him and none of them worked. Upon research, I learned to avoid all products that are formulated with petroleum, petrolatum, mineral oil, etc. These are toxic and since they are cheap ingredients, most ointments use them as a base. Learn to read and understand ingredients so you’re able to spot the all-natural products.
Along with monitoring his personal care products, I also started eating all organic foods since I was nursing him. When he was old enough to eat solid foods, I made organic baby food for him. He hasn’t had a breakout or rash since. He’s also home schooled, so I was never forced to get all of the “so-called” required school-age vaccines for him. He’s had one ear infection, other than that, he’s never sick.
Good luck with your baby! There are great aromatherapy books that teach how to make gentle, therapeutic products for babies. Just make sure you purchase organic ingredients if you want to try making your own.

Hi Kevin,
I have a question. I have a baby that is 18 months, I am breast feeding but he has severe eczema. Please help me with any suggestions. I’ve given him different treatments the doctors just keep giving me topical creams. That is not helping. Let me know what you think, it is getting out of hands he looks like a raccoon and he always has watery eyes.
