Brandy comes clean about Kevin…
August 17, 2010 by Brandy
When I first became Kevin’s producer a little over a year ago, I, like others, was a little skeptical about who this man really was. Between all the bad press, Wikipedia and what other outside influences told me, I was unsure of who to trust. Nevertheless, I’m always up for an adventure, so I wanted to meet this man and decide for myself whether he was a “snake oil salesman” or a truly caring person.
It only took a couple weeks to realize that no one in the press or watching the press truly know what they are talking about. Not only do they fabricate stories, but find every possible negative thing they can to make a story out of! I read every single story published about Kevin and have a hard time not writing each and every columnist to set them straight. I know you feel the same way. You’ve proved that.
After a year of working closely with him, I thought I really knew who he was. It wasn’t until I spent 3 weeks working with him in Europe, where I was on the clock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that I found out what Kevin is really all about. He tells you on a weekly basis that he cares, “but not that much.” However, I am telling you from personal experience, he cares about you more than you can possibly imagine. I promise you, he does not need to do this radio show, but he does… for you. I have never met someone who works as much as he does. While everyone else is sitting around enjoying their free time after work or on the weekend, he is still working hard to find ways to educate and help you as a person.
The press portrays him as a crook and someone who is just constantly trying to sell you something. The only reason why they think that is because he’s so passionate about what he believes in. You should see his bathroom! There isn’t a nonorganic product in there! I mean, he travels with all of these products! I’ve never met someone who travels with so many bags of vitamins and supplements. Trust me. He wouldn’t sell you something he didn’t believe in or use on a daily basis. You know when you really love a product and you go out of your way to tell all of your friends and family about it? You’re his family. He tells you about these products because he cares about you and wants you to live the same blissful life he does.
The amount of knowledge he has is unbelievable. Honestly, that part surprised me the most about this trip. The information he revealed to me and the people I met who gave us information, was out of this world. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. He still has SO much to tell you. Don’t let him quit this radio show. Not only because then I’ll be out of a job, but because there is SO much he hasn’t told you yet. I heard about things on this trip that the government REALLY doesn’t want anyone to know about. This man knows things that would have you hiding in bunkers!
I have been blessed learning the things that I have from Kevin and I don’t want it to end for you because he has an endless quantity of information he still has to share with you.
Click here to show Kevin your support. It’s not like he’s asking for much. Anyone can give up $5 to show their support. I know you can. It’s not about the money; it’s about the number of people who show they truly care. Show Kevin how much YOU really care…
And later this week I’ll reveal even more about my time with Kevin in Europe.

Russian Scholar Warns Of Secret US Climate Change Weapon
August 17, 2010 by Duffy

RFERL.org
by Ashley Cleek
As Muscovites suffer record high temperatures this summer, a Russian political scientist has claimed the United States may be using climate-change weapons to alter the temperatures and crop yields of Russia and other Central Asian countries.
In a recent article, Andrei Areshev, deputy director of the Strategic Culture Foundation, wrote, “At the moment, climate weapons may be reaching their target capacity and may be used to provoke droughts, erase crops, and induce various anomalous phenomena in certain countries.”
The article has been carried by publications throughout Russia, including “International Affairs,” a journal published by the Foreign Ministry and by the state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.
In an telephone interview with RFE/RL, Areshev appeared to back off from claims he made in the article, saying that he was merely positing a theory.
“First of all, I would like to say that what I wrote in that article, even the citations, does not in any way claim to a be final truth. It is, if you will, speculation, in other words, the definition of an hypothesis,” Areshev said.
Moscow is currently sweltering under record temperatures. On July 29 Moscow suffered its hottest day ever, with temperatures hitting 39 degrees.
But Russia isn’t the only country suffering form a heat wave this summer. Indeed, the United States is also experiencing record temperatures. On July 24, temperatures in Washington, D.C., hit 37.7 degrees, and local weather services issued heat warnings for the first time this summer.
Areshev agrees that it is also hot in the United States, but notes that the United States is significantly farther south than Russia, meaning that such high temperatures are not so surprising there.
The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, however, announced in July that land and ocean temperatures throughout the world were the highest ever, since they began tracking global temperatures in 1880.
Conspiracy Theories
In the article, Areshev voiced suspicions about the High-Frequency Active Aural Research Program (HAARP), funded by the U.S. Defense Department and the University of Alaska.
HAARP, which has long been the target of conspiracy theorists, analyzes the ionosphere and seeks to develop technologies to improve radio communications, surveillance, and missile detection.
Areshev writes, however, that its true aim is to create new weapons of mass destruction “in order to destabilize environmental and agricultural systems in local countries.”
Areshev’s article also references an unmanned spacecraft X-37B, an orbital test vehicle the Pentagon launched in April 2010. The Pentagon calls X-37B a prototype for a new “space plane” that could take people and equipment to and from space stations. Areshev, however, alleges that the X-378 carries “laser weaponry” and could be a key component in the Pentagon’s climate-change arsenal.
The Pentagon was not immediately reachable for comment.
Areshev also cites the U.S. government’s effort to use rain and cloud coverage to block the Vietnam Army’s supply routes during the Vietnam War. He insisted, however, that he was not a conspiracy theorist.
“My comments were not made in order to accuse the U.S., or any other country, of consciously influencing Russia,” Areshev said. “That would be quite ridiculous.”
Asked whether or not Russia was also experimenting with climate-control methods, Areshev said since he was not a member of the government, he did not have information about such projects.

Author Bradbury: “Our Country Is In Need Of A Revolution”
August 17, 2010
LA Times
by Susan King
Ray Bradbury is mad at President Obama, but it’s not about the economy, the war or the plan to a construct a mosque near Ground Zero in New York City.
“He should be announcing that we should go back to the moon,” says the iconic author, whose 90th birthday on Aug. 22 will be marked in Los Angeles with more than week’s worth of Bradbury film and TV screenings, tributes and other events. “We should never have left there. We should go to the moon and prepare a base to fire a rocket off to Mars and then go to Mars and colonize Mars. Then when we do that, we will live forever.”
The man who wrote “Fahrenheit 451,” “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” “The Martian Chronicles,” “Dandelion Wine”and “The Illustrated Man” has been called one of America’s great dreamers, but his imagination takes him to some dark places when it comes to contemporary politics.
“I think our country is in need of a revolution,” Bradbury said. “There is too much government today. We’ve got to remember the government should be by the people, of the people and for the people.”
The native of Waukegan, Ill., has never been shy about expressing himself — he described President Clinton with a word that rhymes with “knithead” back in 2001– nor is he timid about correcting people when it comes to his own perceived legacy. Bradbury chafes, for instance, at the description of his work as science fiction — in the past he has pointed out that, to his mind, “Fahrenheit 451″is the only sci-fi book in his vast body of work — and despite his passion for more national space projects, he is not technology obsessive by any means.
“We have too many cellphones. We’ve got too many Internets. We have got to get rid of those machines. We have too many machines now.”
Bradbury wrote darkly about bookburning in “Fahrenheit 451,” but he sounds ready to use a Kindle for kindling. “I was approached three times during the last year by Internet companies wanting to put my books” on an electronic reading device, he said. “I said to Yahoo, ‘Prick up your ears and go to hell.’ ”

Terrorist Tapes Found Under CIA Desk
August 17, 2010
AP News
by Adam Goldman & Matt Puzzo
The CIA has tapes of 9/11 plotter Ramzi Binalshibh being interrogated in a secret overseas prison. Discovered under a desk, the recordings could provide an unparalleled look at how foreign governments aided the U.S. in holding and questioning suspected terrorists.
The two videotapes and one audiotape are believed to be the only remaining recordings made within the clandestine prison system.
The tapes depict Binalshibh’s interrogation sessions at a Moroccan-run facility the CIA used near Rabat in 2002, several current and former U.S. officials told The Associated Press. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the recordings remain a closely guarded secret.
When the CIA destroyed its cache of 92 videos of two other al-Qaida operatives, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Nashiri, being waterboarded in 2005, officials believed they had wiped away all of the agency’s interrogation footage. But in 2007, a staffer discovered a box tucked under a desk in the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center and pulled out the Binalshibh tapes.
A Justice Department prosecutor who is already investigating whether destroying the Zubaydah and al-Nashiri tapes was illegal is now also probing why the Binalshibh tapes were never disclosed. Twice, the government told a federal judge they did not exist.
The tapes could complicate U.S. efforts to prosecute Binalshibh, 38, who has been described as a “key facilitator” in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. If the tapes surfaced at trial, they could clearly reveal Morocco’s role in the counterterrorism program known as Greystone, which authorized the CIA to hold terrorists in secret prisons and shuttle them to other countries.
More significantly to his defense, the tapes also could provide evidence of Binalshibh’s mental state within the first months of his capture. In court documents, defense lawyers have been asking for medical records to see whether Binalshibh’s years in CIA custody made him mentally unstable. He is being treated for schizophrenia with a potent cocktail of anti-psychotic medications.
With military commissions on hold while the Obama administration figures out what to do with suspected terrorists, Binalshibh has never had a hearing on whether he is mentally fit to stand trial.
“If those tapes exist, they would be extremely relevant,” said Thomas A. Durkin, Binalshibh’s civilian lawyer.
The CIA first publicly hinted at the existence of the Binalshibh tapes in 2007 in a letter to U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema in Virginia. The government twice denied having such tapes, and recanted once they were discovered. But the government blacked out Binalshibh’s name from a public copy of the letter.
At the time, the CIA played down the significance, saying the videos were not taken as part of the CIA’s detention program and did not show CIA interrogations.
That’s true, but only because of the unusual nature of the Moroccan prison, which was largely financed by the CIA but run by Moroccans, the former officials said. The CIA could move detainees in and out, and oversee the interrogations, but officially, Morocco had control.
CIA spokesman George Little would not discuss the Moroccan facility except to say agency officials “continue to cooperate with inquiries into past counterterrorism practices.”
Moroccan government officials did not respond to questions about Binalshibh and his time in Morocco. The country has never acknowledged the existence of the detention center.
Morocco has a troubled history of prison abuse and human rights violations. A government-created commission identified decades of torture, forced disappearances, poor prison conditions and sexual violence. And this year’s State Department report on Morocco notes continued accusations of torture by security forces.
But current and former U.S. officials say no harsh interrogation methods, like the simulated drowning tactic called waterboarding, were used in Morocco. In the CIA’s secret network of undisclosed “black prisons,” Morocco was just way station of sorts, a place to hold detainees for a few months at a time.
“The tapes record a guy sitting in a room just answering questions,” according to a U.S. official familiar with the program.
That would make them quite different from the 92 interrogation videos of Zubaydah and al-Nashiri being subjected to waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics.
Binalshibh was captured Sept. 11, 2002, and interrogated for days at a CIA facility in Afghanistan. Almost immediately, two former CIA officials said, Binalshibh exhibited mental instability that would worsen over time.
When FBI agents finally had a chance to interview Binalshibh, they found him lethargic but unharmed.
“He had a certain toughness about him, like he didn’t care,” said Raymond Holcomb, a retired FBI agent who spent five days alongside the CIA with Binalshibh in Afghanistan and wrote about it in a forthcoming book, “Endless Enemies: Inside FBI Counterterrorism.”
Though Binalshibh was uncooperative during his early interrogations, his interviews formed the foundation for parts of the 9/11 commission report. One official said he also provided intelligence about a plot to crash aircraft into London’s Heathrow Airport.
Binalshibh spent five months in Morocco in late 2002 and early 2003, the first of three trips through the facility during his years in CIA custody.
Since his incarceration was established at Guantanamo Bay in 2006, Binalshibh has appeared increasingly erratic. Court records show him acting out, breaking cameras in his cell and smearing them with feces.
He has experienced delusions, believing the CIA was intentionally shaking his bed and cell, according to court records and interviews. He has imagined tingling sensations like things were crawling all over him and developed a nervous tic, obsessively scratching himself.
Nine years after his capture, there is no indication when Binalshibh and other admitted 9/11 terrorists will face military or civilian trials.
Binalshibh and other accused 9/11 conspirators have openly admitted their roles, praising the attacks. Binalshibh and the others have asked to plead guilty, a move that would head off any trial and almost certainly guarantee the videotapes never get played in any court.

Israel Has ’8 Days’ To Hit Iran Nuclear Site
August 17, 2010
Yahoo! News
Israel has “eight days” to launch a military strike against Iran’s Bushehr nuclear facility and stop Tehran from acquiring a functioning atomic plant, a former US envoy to the UN has said.
Iran is to bring online its first nuclear power reactor, built with Russia’s help, on August 21, when a shipment of nuclear fuel will be loaded into the plant’s core.
At that point, John Bolton warned Monday, it will be too late for Israel to launch a military strike against the facility because any attack would spread radiation and affect Iranian civilians.
“Once that uranium, once those fuel rods are very close to the reactor, certainly once they’re in the reactor, attacking it means a release of radiation, no question about it,” Bolton told Fox Business Network.
“So if Israel is going to do anything against Bushehr it has to move in the next eight days.”
Absent an Israeli strike, Bolton said, “Iran will achieve something that no other opponent of Israel, no other enemy of the United States in the Middle East really has and that is a functioning nuclear reactor.”
But when asked whether he expected Israel to actually launch strikes against Iran within the next eight days, Bolton was skeptical.
“I don’t think so, I’m afraid that they’ve lost this opportunity,” he said.
The controversial former envoy to the United Nations criticized Russia’s role in the development of the plant, saying “the Russians are, as they often do, playing both sides against the middle.”
“The idea of being able to stick a thumb in America’s eye always figures prominently in Moscow,” he added.
Iran dismissed the possibilities of such an attack from its archfoes.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that “these threats of attacks had become repetitive and lost their meaning.”
“According to international law, installations which have real fuel cannot be attacked because of the humanitarian consequences,” he told reporters at a news conference in Tehran.
Iranian officials say Iran has stepped up defensive measures at the Bushehr plant to protect it from any attacks.
Russia has been building the Bushehr plant since the mid-1990s but the project was marred by delays, and the issue is hugely sensitive amid Tehran’s standoff with the West and Israel over its nuclear ambitions.
The UN Security Council hit Tehran with a fourth set of sanctions on June 9 over its nuclear programme, and the United States and European Union followed up with tougher punitive measures targeting Iran’s banking and energy sectors.
The Bushehr project was first launched by the late shah in the 1970s using contractors from German firm Siemens. But it was shelved when he was deposed in the 1979 Islamic revolution.
It was revived after the death of revolutionary founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1989, as Iran’s new supreme leader Ali Khamenei and his first president, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, backed the project.
In 1995, Iran won the support of Russia which agreed to finish building the plant and fuel it.

Reasons Why You Should Avoid Bottled Water
August 16, 2010
Natural News
By: Cindy Jones-Shoeman
Many Americans buy bottled water across the United States every day; this practice stems from the belief that drinking more water is good for a person. Yes, water is truly the best thing a person could ever drink, but bottled water is not the best way to do it. In fact, drinking bottled water is a bad idea. There are several reasons why people should stop drinking bottled water now.
Bottled Water is Usually Just Tap Water
That’s right. Bottled water, most of the time, is simply tap water from whatever municipality the bottling company is located in. Sometimes it’s purified and filtered; sometimes it’s not.
Why would a person want to spend a dollar or two on water that comes straight out of the faucet? At the very least, when a person pours water out of his own tap, he usually knows what’s in his city’s water, and he can filter it before drinking it. But there are no labels on bottled water that report to consumers what is in the city water poured into a bottle.
Bottled Water Harms the Environment
Here’s a frightening fact: 2.5 million plastic bottles are thrown away every hour in the United States. Yes, 2.5 million an hour. Imagine how that amount contributes to swelling landfills as well as the ever-growing plastic vortex in the Pacific Ocean.
Drinking water in one’s kitchen from a cup produces little waste in regard to the environment. But if a person consumed all her daily water from bottles, imagine how quickly that would add up. Bottled water is bad for the planet.
Drinking Bottled Water Exposes Consumers to Harmful Chemical
No, that chemical doesn’t come from the water; it comes from the plastic. Many plastic bottles contain the chemical bisphenol A, also known as BPA, which can leach into the water in the bottle.
Why is this a problem? Studies indicate that BPA exposure is toxic and exposure can cause myriad health problems and can wreak havoc on hormone levels. The FDA is, in typical fashion, moving slowly on the issue, so it is up to consumers to keep themselves safe.
Buying Bottled Water Puts More Money into the Pockets of Big Business
Do people really want to hand over their primary drinking source to big business? It’s one thing when a company supplies a product and then tries to convince consumers they have a need for it; it’s another thing when they take a real need out of people’s hands.
According to the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Americans spend approximately 4 billion dollars a year on bottled water. That money goes into the pockets of the very companies that also try to hook people on soft drinks containing caffeine, sugar, and other potentially harmful additives.
But What About Healthful Bottled Water?
Forget “healthy” bottled water. It’s a fallacy. John Robbins reports that many of these so-called healthful bottled waters, ones that are marketed as containing vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements, are nothing more than “sugar-water.”
As with any product, a consumer would do best to read the labels of these kinds of products. When a water product contains sugar, how healthy can it be for a person? It’s not, no mattered how it’s hyped.
Bottled Water is Bad!
It doesn’t matter what companies claim; bottled water is a bad idea. People will be healthier and the environment will be better cared for if people don’t spend their money on bottled water.
ADA Calls On You To Help Improve Student Nutrition
August 16, 2010
Natural News
by: Jonathan Benson
The American Dietetic Association (ADA) recently published a position paper that urges local schools and their surrounding communities to work together to improve the nutritional quality of food in schools. The ADA is also advocating for better nutrition education programs to assist students in making healthy lifestyle choices.
“[W]hen nutrition education, physical activity and a healthful school environment are ensured, learning is enhanced and students develop lifelong, healthful eating habits,” explains the ADA in its paper.
The group also contends that, since dietary habits are established when children are very young, it is important for nutrition education programs to be implemented as early as possible. Establishing a healthy diet and a pattern of regular exercise will also go a long way to prevent illness from developing later in children’s lives.
On August 5, the U.S. Congress reauthorized the national child nutrition programs with the help and input of the ADA. Though somewhat conventional in approach, as it primarily follows the official Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the programs are a good start towards improving the overall health and well-being of today’s children.
These policies include revamped school lunch and breakfast programs designed to improve the nutritional quality of the food served, and better incentives for children to pick healthy options over less healthy ones.
Another goal of the program is to link more nutrition experts to local schools where they can provide expertise and help support ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the various initiatives.
Offshore Wind Turbines Could Power The Entire Planet
August 16, 2010
Natural News
By: David Gutierrez
Offshore wind turbines could provide enough electricity for the entire world if connected into the right kind of grid, according to a study conducted by researchers from the University of Delaware and Stony Brook University and published in the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences.
A major drawback of wind power is that as weather patterns fluctuate, the amount of power generated also fluctuates — making electricity unreliable. To test a way around this problem, researchers examined five years’ worth of wind speed data from 11 different monitoring stations along the East Coast of the United States. They found that as expected, wind turbines placed at any of these monitoring stations would fluctuate in their power-generating capacity over time.
The researchers then modeled what would happen if all 11 turbines were connected to each other into one power grid.
“When we simulate a power line connecting them, called here the Atlantic Transmission Grid, the output from the entire set of generators rarely reaches either low or full power, and power changes slowly,” the researchers wrote. “Notably, during the five-year study period, the amount of power shifted up and down but never stopped.”
The researchers said that for wind power to meet more of civilization’s energy needs, turbines need to be strategically sited taking regional weather patterns into account, so that one turbine will be in wind while another is experiencing a lull.
“A north-south transmission geometry fits nicely with the storm track that shifts northward or southward along the U.S. East Coast on a weekly or seasonal time scale,” researcher Brian Colle said. “Because then at any one time a high or low pressure system is likely to be producing wind (and thus power) somewhere along the coast.”
The study confirms that making wind power into a major energy source would require the construction of a massive new energy infrastructure. Critics of wind and solar power have pointed out that because these power sources require such large-scale construction, their fossil fuel and other environmental footprint is much greater than is usually supposed.
