“Pretty interesting that Cooper would touch this topic.” –KTRN
UFOs and Alien Abductions were a topic on Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show this week. The segment included two women who believe they have been abducted by aliens, the Pennsylvania director for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), John Ventre, and a debunker. In one of the following clips posted on the Anderson Cooper YouTube site, Cooper say he doubts that the government could keep a secret of this magnitude as he grills Ventre.
Airplane, UFO or Venus?

On Jan. 14 of last year, an Air Canada pilot flying from Toronto to Zurich, Switzerland, woke up from a nap to see an alarming sight out the cockpit window: what appeared to be a flying object (presumably another plane) flying directly at him. He immediately took evasive action, sending the jet into a steep, sudden dive that injured 16 people and almost resulted in a midair collision with another aircraft flying 1,000 feet lower.
It was a terrifying, bizarre event over the Atlantic Ocean, but what makes it even stranger is that, according to a new report from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, the pilot was reacting to an optical illusion. The pilot thought it was a UFO — quite literally, an unidentified object flying at the plane. Yet there was no aircraft, identified or otherwise: The pilot had instead seen reflected sunlight from the planet Venus.
Depending on when you measure it (since everything in the universe is in constant motion), Venus is between about 25 million and 162 million miles away. Yet the pilot thought that it was close enough to pose an imminent threat of collision. How could the pilot’s estimate of the light’s distance to the plane be off by at least 25 million miles? How could an experienced airline pilot mistake a planet for a plane?
It’s actually not that difficult to understand and has implications for other UFO sightings.
As this incident shows, accurately judging the size, speed and distance of unknown lights in the night sky is virtually impossible.
A light in the sky might be small and 100 yards away, medium-sized and a few miles away, or even planet-sized and tens of millions of miles away — and there is no way to know the difference. John Nance, a former commercial pilot and ABC News aviation analyst, said that such a mistake, while seemingly inexplicable to the average person, was “not outlandish … a bright light, which can be a planet like Venus, can be very startling, and you can mistake it for an airplane.”
The Betz Mystery Sphere: Alien Artifact or Doomsday Device?

his bizarre, allegedly self propelled, seamless metallic orb was discovered by members of the Betz family in 1974, and rapidly became the object of fascination, controversy and alarm for scientists, military officials, ufologists and the general public as the story of this mystery sphere spread like wildfire through the international media.
On May 26, 1974, Terry Mathew Betz, a 21 year-old pre-med student, along his mother Gerri and his marine engineer father, Antoine, were inspecting the damage caused by a brush fire that had raged across an 88-acre swathe of woodland that they had recently acquired on marshy Fort George Island, which is nestled just east of Jacksonville, Florida.
At first the trio found nothing out of the ordinary, but before their expedition was over they stumbled across a peculiar highly polished, metal orb that was just under 8-inches in diameter. The only delineating mark that the three could find on the eerily unblemished object was an elongated triangular shape stamped into its surface.
Stunned, Terry and his parents wondered whether or not they might have stumbled across some kind of downed NASA or maybe even Soviet satellite.
Perhaps they even speculated that the friction induced heat of this object plummeting from its orbit might have had something to do with the fire that had ravaged the property, but none of them could find any signs of an impact crater or any indication of collision or heat damage on the gleaming metal globe.
The trio then surmised that it might be an “old fashioned canon ball, which someone had silver plated,” as a souvenir. Intrigued by this extraordinary find, Terry decided to heft the 22 lbs., bowling ball sized sphere into their car and take it back to their castle-like home, where he showed the unusual object to a 12 year-old relative named Wayne. He was just as perplexed by the mystery object as the rest of the family had been.
The young medical student then placed his strange prize on a window seat in his bedroom, and there the anomalous object remained, virtually forgotten, until approximately two weeks later when Terry decided to entertain his friend, Theresa Fraser, with an impromptu guitar recital in his room, eliciting some decidedly unusual reactions from this enigmatic orb.
Martian Crater 48 Miles Long Could Provide New Evidence That Water Used To Flow On The Red Planet

huge meteor crater 48 miles long photographed by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbital satellite could possible give clues to a watery past for the Red Planet.
The elongated crater that is one mile deep and up to 15 miles across has a debris field that includes several small channels.
According to scientists at the space agency this suggests that at the time of impact the surface was rich in volatiles, which could have been water.
The enormous 48-mile long crater that is also one mile deep displays evidence at its edges of channels that could have been created by water displaced by the meteor impact
The impact of the meteor would have displaced anything in its path and caused channels to be created as the water flowed away.
The enormous crater itself was most likely the result of the impact of two or more incoming projectiles which landed close together
This idea is reinforced by the existence of a second elongated crater that exists to the northwest of this one.

“From weird hums to odd booms, just what is it that people are hearing?” –KTRN
Ottawa has dispatched a man to southwestern Ontario to get to the bottom of a mystery noise plaguing Windsor residents.
The “Windsor hum” — described as a low frequency rumbling sound — has been sparking complaints from residents on the city’s west side for more than a year.
A federal study suggests the hum may be coming from the U.S. side of the Detroit River, in the general area of Zug Island, an industrial site.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Friday he was sending his parliamentary secretary to look into the issue and find ways of dealing with it.
Bob Dechert was to speak with Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis as well as various U.S. state and federal officials.
He also planned to tour Zug Island as part of his mission.
“The Windsor hum is having a negative effect on the day-to-day lives of Windsor residents,” Baird said in a statement.
“We are prepared to collaborate with stakeholders and other levels of government to identify the source of the problem so that potential mitigation measures can be designed and implemented.”

Predicting real world events has been a fixation for not only Nostradamus. Many individuals have seen through the fog of uncertainty to predict some of the world’s major events through either paintings or images. Whether you believe in seership or not, it is not difficult to see some form of foresight in these images.
As you look at this collection, do so with an open mind. The circumstances to which these pictures allude might seem speculative and nothing more than the mind being selective over what it’s seeing. However, coincidence or not, one must admit the haunting precognition presented here is enough to allow you pause for thought.

In a repeat of events in LA three months ago, black military helicopters buzzed skyscrapers and high rise buildings in downtown Chicago Monday night, in what has been described as an urban training exercise.
Witnesses reported at least three Blackhawk helicopters flying in close formation, then separately, around offices and residential buildings for several hours.
Several smaller A/MH-6 Little Bird helicopters were also seen circling close to the Chicago River. The choppers are often used by military special forces.
Witnesses described seeing three or four military personnel hanging out of each of the helicopters brandishing automatic weapons.
The following stunning videos show just how close the choppers came to the buildings, literally rattling windows as they flew past:
Advanced Dinosaurs Rule Alien Worlds? Maybe So, Chemist Conjectures

Imagine an alien world ruled by “advanced dinosaurs” as smart as humans—maybe even smarter.
Science fiction? Not necessarily, says the author of a provocative new study whose title–“Evidence for the Likely Origin of Homochirality in Amino Acids”—gives no hint of any worrisome extraterrestrial implications.
Published in the March 25 issue of the “Journal of the American Chemical Society,” the study addresses the chemistry of amino acids here on Earth. But study author Dr. Ronald Breslow, a professor of chemistry at Columbia University in New York City, said in a written statement the work suggests that if life forms do exist on other planets, they “could well be advanced versions of dinosaurs.”
It’s long been known that certain molecules, including DNA and amino acids, exist in two mirror-image forms—a phenomenon known as chirality. And with few exceptions, the amino acids that make up the proteins in life on Earth exist only in the L (left-handed) form. The question is how did this “homochirality” come to be?
Some scientists have speculated that the amino acids that predominate on Earth came to our planet via meteorites four billion years ago. And if that’s what happened on Earth, Dr. Breslow said in the statement, it’s possible that life that might exist on other planets could be based on D amino acids.
‘Monolith’ Object on Mars?

“Have you noticed the slow drip of information about weird things on Mars lately? There is a new rover landing there in August. Could NASA be setting us up for the big announcement that they found life in … December of 2012?” –KTRN
Amateur stargazers have discovered an intriguing object jutting out from the surface of Mars. The seemingly perfectly rectangular, upright structure, found in NASA images of the Red Planet, bears a striking resemblance to the monoliths planted on Earth and the moon by aliens in the classic sci-fi film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”
The object in question was first spotted several years ago after being photographed by the HiRISE camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, a NASA space probe; every so often, it garners renewed interest on the Internet. But is it unnatural — a beacon erected by aliens for mysterious reasons, and even more mysteriously paralleled in the imaginations of Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke, creators of “2001″? Or is this rock the work of nature? [Photo ]
According to Jonathon Hill, a research technician and mission planner at the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University, who processes many of the images taken during NASA’s Mars missions, the object in question is no more than a roughly rectangular boulder.
The HiRISE camera that photographed it has a resolution of approximately 1 foot (30 centimeters) per pixel — impressive considering the 180-mile (300-kilometer) altitude from which it photographs the Martian surface, but not quite sharp enough to capture the cragginess of a mid-size boulder. “When your resolution is too low to fully resolve an object, it tends to look rectangular because the pixels in the image are squares. Any curve will look like a series of straight lines if you reduce your resolution enough,” Hill told Life’s Little Mysteries.
Mars Viking Robots ‘Found Life’

“NASA has known about life on Mars since the 1970s, yet they continue to keep the information to themselves. This report does not come from some ‘conspiracy theory weirdo,’ it’s from Discovery News.” –KTRN
New analysis of 36-year-old data, resuscitated from printouts, shows NASA found life on Mars, an international team of mathematicians and scientists conclude in a paper published this week.
Further, NASA doesn’t need a human expedition to Mars to nail down the claim, neuropharmacologist and biologist Joseph Miller, with the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, told Discovery News.
“The ultimate proof is to take a video of a Martian bacteria. They should send a microscope — watch the bacteria move,” Miller said.
“On the basis of what we’ve done so far, I’d say I’m 99 percent sure there’s life there,” he added.
Miller’s confidence stems in part from a new study that re-analyzed results from a life-detection experiment conducted by NASA’s Viking Mars robots in 1976.
Researchers crunched raw data collected during runs of the Labeled Release experiment, which looked for signs of microbial metabolism in soil samples scooped up and processed by the two Viking landers. General consensus of scientists has been that the experiment found geological, not biological, activity.
The new study took a different approach. Researchers distilled the Viking Labeled Release data, provided as hard copies by the original researchers, into sets of numbers and analyzed the results for complexity. Since living systems are more complicated than non-biological processes, the idea was to look at the experiment results from a purely numerical perspective.
