Last year Health Canada released Fluoride in Drinking Water, a document for public inspection and comment, prepared by the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water.
A panel of six experts, four of them dentists, investigated fluoride exposure data with the intent of “revising the current drinking-water guideline” for Canada, while explicitly stating that their objective was not to dictate municipal fluoridation practices.
Fluoridated water is a tough mouthful to swallow for the increasing number of Canadians questioning its impact on their bodies and the environment. Critics have questioned the lengthy report on multiple fronts, including failure to rigorously assess the role of fluoride in a globally pervasive health condition—thyroid disease.
The Health Canada study did not seriously consider thyroid health when it put forward a maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) level of 1.5 mg of fluoride per litre of tap water, according to a response from Carole Clinch, research coordinator with People for Safe Drinking Water.
Why focus on thyroid function?
For starters, the thyroid gland is a repository where fluoride accumulates throughout one’s lifetime.
Fluoride is a very small, chemically reactive particle that tends to displace other minerals in certain storage sites within the body. For this reason, it has been used in osteoporosis treatment—fluoride reinforces bone where calcium has been depleted—and dentistry to replace minerals lost from the teeth.
It should be remembered that the World Health Organization (WHO) treats fluoride more like a drug than an essential nutrient. Fluoridation of a municipal water supply is, in effect, administration of a substance that can create “chemical hazards with clearly defined health effects” for all users of that water, according to WHO.
Unless reverse osmosis, distillation, or activated alumina systems are used, you are not able to remove the fluoride. As Paul Connett, PhD, professor emeritus of environmental chemistry at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, declares in his critique of Health Canada’s proposed MAC level for fluoride, “Once fluoride has been added to the water it is no longer possible to control the dose that people get. There will be literally millions of people who will get a higher dose of fluoride drinking water at 0.8 ppm [parts per million] than people would get drinking water at 1.5 ppm.”
How fluoride affects the thyroid
Evidence that fluoride accumulates in the thyroid dates back to the early 1900s, where its presence in the glandular tissue first came to light because of obvious goitres (swollen, enlarged thyroid glands).
In the thyroid gland, fluoride can prevent iodine from playing its proper role in synthesizing two hormones critical for normal metabolic activity throughout the body—T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine).
The names of these hormones allude to the number of iodide particles the thyroid needs to build them. When fluoride—a more reactive substance from the same chemical family as iodine (the halides)—enters the picture, it can interfere with the T3 and T4 manufacture by blocking iodide receptors.

Thank you for spreading the knowledge, Kevin! You have helped me tremendously.
Kevin for president!
The board of the Santa Clara Valley Water District (in California) held a public meeting March 22nd on water fluoridation. This summer they are scheduled to vote on whether or not to fluoridate the water supply. The board and their staff were given 20 copies of a 75-minute cd of doctors explaining the history, origin, and health hazards of this toxic waste. Doctors included John Lee, John Yiamouyannis, and Phyllis Mullenix. The audio is posted at the website http://www.MaeBrussell.com. Just go to the bottom of the homepage.
If people were to burn a cd of that audio and spread it around (especially to churches, schools, health food stores and health clubs) you might find it very effective in waking up the public in your area. Good luck.
I think it is ridiculous how Kevin gets attacked constantly yet majority of the info on health that I have heard him speak about is in line with just about every hollistic doctor I have heard speak. Keep up the good work Kevin there are not enough people willing to go to bat for the “little guy”.
Kevin! Thank you for all you do to help and serve! I have been a fan for decades and would follow you anywhere! – WIN WIN GIN!
Kevin,
Please run for office, we need someone in Washington DC like you to tell us what they don’t want us to know!
Best,
James
As a mother of a toddler, I think it should be criminal to put flouride in children’s toothpaste. I also hate that when I go to the dentist, they just assume I am going to do their fluoride treatment which they upsell for $8.00. The money isn’t the issue. The issue is that they don’t ask me first if I even want the treatment and then every six months I have to explain why I don’t want it! I think the fact that I am hypothyroid and on armour thyroid medication should be ’nuff’ said. They push me with their facts. But I always “out fact” them with the health risks of flouride.
KT,
Please run for office. The time is ripe for challenge even though the cowardly criminals you oppose will resort to digging up all their low-life thugs to do their dirty work. There is an enormous mountain of work to do but holding this mountain up at the bottom of this cowarly criminality are these main factors: 1) The Federal Reserve 2)The pharmaceutical industry and, maybe my most important criminal element of all the devils on earth, #3) companies like Monsanto who poison the earth’s unsuspecting citizens and lower everyone’s vibration. Topple these little punks and the world will be on its’ way back to respectability.
I use to remember in Video games that food was to increase your health bar. like the back old school days with the game legend of Zelda, you would find cherries or meat legs to increase health. Now a days you play video games like Call of duty or Battlefield. You have to have a drug or pain killer to increase your health bar.
Hey, that’s very accurate, regarding the video games method of restoring health. Then again, military situations might require something more compact and less perishable — not that some amount of food can’t still be used. It’s usually in the fantasy games, games from any era, where food is a source of health; I mean, obviously they’re never going to advertise drugs to kids. ………..Right?
As for the article, it’s also interesting how fluoride displaces would-be nutrients. It makes it sound like it’s a good thing. But I doubt that it is. Replace essential minerals with a drug-like material? No thanks. Sounds like there would have to be so much therapy to remove the fluoride or any such thing. In fact, that’s one of my foremost concerns: how do you accurately and safely replace drug-filled spots of the body with organic materials? I’d hope, though, that the body would know where to place every nutrient, once you do a regimen that includes simultaneously removing toxins and realigning with life. I haven’t bought nearly enough reading materials from this website—practically have bought none that which would help me comprehensively learn about these topics.
I heard that not only is sodium fluoride in various water supplies, but so is a much more devastating substance called hydroflousilicic acid. This is really messed up. Also, as soon as Kevin started talking about running for office and had provided his example of the first law that he would write, I instantaneously knew—including even a huge mental blow-back that occurred, and which was followed by a consciousness cleansing from 2.5 years of self-suffering from conceptual (and non-conceptual) questions for solutions—that he is the only answer, irrespective of years of effort being put forth by other people. As soon as I have $5 I will give it.
How is Hesitation. (Although, I argue — alongside certainly certain synonyms — that “Proofreading”, is the only How.
Do you even play videogames?. meat legs and cherries in the legend of zelda???????????????????????/ … -_- … there are none of those in the game from my knowledge /: .. What games use drugs?.
Finally the truth is starting to come out. And yet we still have people who think that fluoride is good for you! This is why we need someone like Kevin in office to help not only America but the world! The world start to follow his example and maybe just maybe we can have an era of prosperity!
KT,
I will fully support you if you decide to run for office.
