What are your thoughts on Ecigarettes and the potential FDA ban on these companies providing them? I am an RN with a smoking habit that I picked up long before becoming a nurse (30 years ago). I have emphazema (sp?) now and have tried all the usual gimmicks to quit, to no no avail. I like to smoke and i understand it is killing me. I purchased an Ecig starter kit and I have found that I am smoking fewer real cigs without feeling like I’m giving something up, not to mention that I feel better…my lungs are not on fire and even my sinuses are not as inflammed…it’s only been 2 weeks!! This beats the hell out of the patch,gum, lozanges (sp?), Chantix, etc… I am so digusted that the FDA has the nerve to try to shut these guys down…although I am not shocked!! I suppose a lot of companies stand to lose a lot of cash! Why don’t they make it illegal to make/sell/buy real cigarettes? The arguments are weak with regard to the statements about the carcinogens in Ecigs…compared to the carcinogens in real smokes?!! Or the the these nicotine providers are considered a drug…so are real smokes…and patches. Just wondered what your thoughts were on the subject…K RN;)
