Have you ever heard of Trace Minerals? It comes in a little bottle. This stuff is unlike anything you can get anywhere. It comes from this 500 million year old ancient sediment bedrock plant. It’s the most bizarre thing in the world! It’s like compressed plants from the purest time in earth’s history; 500 million years ago. My good friend, Dr. Morter, has the exclusive rights to this place, and he gets the colloidal plant-based minerals from this 500 million year old source. It basically comes to this: all of you are deficient in minerals, which leads to a whole host of diseases. There was a great audio years ago called “Dead Doctors Don’t Lie.” They talk about mineral depletion being the cornerstone of all nutritional deficiencies, which lead to illness and disease.
Trace Minerals are also great for cuts! If you cut yourself and you’re bleeding, you can put a few drops of the minerals on the cut and it coagulates the blood almost instantaneously. It has anti-bacterial action, so it won’t get infected. Not to mention the fact that it makes you heal quicker!
It even works on burns! I was fishing up in Canada with the Morters and we had an open fire, and on this open fire we had a cast iron skillet. Now, the skillet, including the handle, was cast iron; it was red hot! We were deep frying fish and potatoes in this cast iron skillet and it was just sitting there after we had eaten. Somebody left the cast iron skillet on the hot coal, so it was still red hot. Guess who decided to help clean up?! That’s right, yours truly! So, I strolled over there like a big dope and proceeded to grab the handle of this red hot, cast iron skillet to move it off the fire to clean it, you know, being the good Samaritan that I was.
As you can imagine, I virtually got third degree burns on my hand. I mean it blistered instantly! And here I was in screaming pain and am thinking, ‘Oh my god, the trip is going to be ruined! This is my whole hand! There are blisters all over the inside of my hand! This is horrible and we’re in the middle of nowhere!’ We were dropped off on a float plane, so there was literally no place to go.
Well, of course Dr. Morter just whips out his Trace Minerals that he carries with him everywhere and says, ‘Here, let me just put a few drops of this on. First let’s douse it in some ice water then we’ll put on some minerals. Now, I want you to rub the minerals into the blisters and then we’ll go back and forth between ice water and rubbing the minerals into the blisters.’
The whole time I’m thinking, ‘What are these little drops of minerals going to do?’ He must have known I was thinking it because he says to me, ‘Trust me. It will be fine tomorrow.’
I go, ‘This is impossible, they’re blistered already’…
‘Trust me, it’ll be fine tomorrow.’
I go, ‘Doc, look, I don’t know if you’re a burn expert, but these are like third degree burns! I mean, I may need skin grafting! This is unbelievably painful! I don’t know if I can fish, this is…’
‘Trust me,’ he said, ‘I know what I’m doing.’
So, he rubbed in those Trace Minerals on my burn and I hopped on the boat and we went fishing afterwards. That was a shore lunch, so we’re fishing in the afternoon and I’m rubbing the Trace Minerals on my burn and thinking, ‘this is not going to do anything.’
When I went to bed that night, I was surprised that the pain had subsided, because I thought it was going to be just painful and I wouldn’t be able to sleep. I woke up the next morning, got up, went into the bathroom, put some water on my face, brushed my teeth and went to look for some coffee. I then sat down, had some coffee, chatted with some of the other guys and all of a sudden Dr. Morter said, ‘How’s the hand?’ And I go, ‘Oh, I forgot about the hand!’ I had totally forgotten about the hand, so I looked down and you could see where the blisters were and where it was burnt, but the blisters were flat and there was no pain at all. It was 80% healed in one night! It was the most unbelievable thing I’ve ever seen!
Now, since that time, I travel with these Trace Minerals everywhere I go. It is one of the things that is in my travel bag 100% of the time because if I get a cut, burn, bee sting or insect bite, all I have to do is put the Trace Minerals on and I’ll be good to go! If I have a sore throat when I’m travelling, I put about 8 drops in a little bit of water and gargle with it. It basically kills all the bacteria in your throat and cures yourself of a sore throat! When I’m travelling, I always put a few drops in some water and drink it to make sure I get plenty of minerals in my system. Minerals are the key to good health. Without minerals, forget it! Without minerals, you have no health at all!

Vitamin D Deficiencies Are Epidemic

Vitamin D is an amazing nutrient that protect the body from all sorts of diseases and problems. Researchers continually uncover new links between lack of vitamin D and disease, illustrating the fact that it is vital to good health. However recent studies have also found that most people are deficient in vitamin D.
A team of doctors from the McGill University Health Centre in Canada was surprised to find that about 59 percent of people evaluated were deficient in vitamin D and about 25 percent were severely deficient. Published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the study is allegedly the first to illustrate a definitive link between vitamin D deficiency and an accumulation of fat in muscle tissue.
“Because it [vitamin D deficiency] is linked to increased body fat, it may affect many different parts of the body. Abnormal levels of vitamin D are associated with a whole spectrum of diseases, including cancer, osteoporosis, and diabetes, as well as cardiovascular and autoimmune disorders,” explained Dr. Richard Kremer, lead investigator of the study.
The main reason why people are generally lacking in vitamin D is because people spend much more time indoors than they used to. Especially with computers, people often spend their entire days inside cubicles where they are exposed to little or no sunlight.
Vitamin D is not produced in the body on its own. It is created when skin is exposed to sunlight. Some foods contain vitamin D, but in minimal amounts compared to what can be achieved from sun exposure. Most people also do not consume enough vitamin D-rich food to obtain adequate amounts of it.
The McGill study highlights an important link between vitamin D and obesity that, until now, has been largely ignored. Vitamin D deficiency contributes to decreased muscle and increased fat, which is a condition that is increasingly common in industrialized nations. Though diet also plays a role in obesity, it is striking to see vitamin D playing a role in the condition as well.
Perhaps the reason why vitamin D deficiency is linked to all sorts of serious diseases has more to do with the increase in visceral fat that it causes, which in turn leads to such health problems. This study seems to confirm that notion.
The best way to address vitamin D deficiency is to get more sunlight. But when this is not possible, particularly throughout the winter months when the sun is at a lower angle and the ultraviolet (UV) rays are at a minimum, supplementation with vitamin D is the next best option.
The study itself did not confirm one way or another the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation in reducing fat and increasing muscle, however tests have shown that supplementation does increase blood levels of vitamin D. Many people take vitamin D supplements to alleviate their deficiency and have experience good results.
Currently, the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of vitamin D is between 200 and 400 international units (IU) per day, depending on age. Recent studies are showing that these recommendations are too low to maintain optimal health. Some are suggesting that these guidelines be updated to amounts upwards of 1,000 IU per day, including the Canadian Cancer Society.
On a typical summer day, 15 to 20 minutes of sunlight exposure will result in the skin producing about 40,000 IU of vitamin D. At this point, the mechanism that produces it shuts off in order to prevent the body from making too much.
With these levels in mind, many naturopathic doctors recommend supplementing with up to 10,000 IU a day or more. Many believe it is difficult to take too much vitamin D because the safe upper limits are much higher than previously thought.
Currently, the best form of vitamin D is D3, or cholecalciferol, because it is the precursor to the type created by the body from sunlight exposure. Vitamin D3 can be safely taken at amounts much higher than the RDA guidelines.
Safe tanning beds are another option for achieving optimal vitamin D levels without taking a supplement. Despite recent reports that they are unsafe and cause skin cancer, some tanning beds can be used properly and safely to obtain UV rays when regular sunlight is not an option. These beds use electronic ballasts instead of magnetic ballasts that emit electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs), which can cause cancer and other health issues.
Dr. Mercola, another trusted source of natural health information, has a helpful directory of healthy tanning locations across the country. There are also companies that sell these tanning beds for home use.
If you are unsure about your vitamin D levels and wish to consult with your physician, a simple blood test will determine your levels. Whichever route you choose to take, just be sure to get enough vitamin D. Your body will thank you.

Cancer Warnings Lead to Massive Vitamin D Deficiency

Public health warnings about the skin cancer risks associated with sun exposure have led people to avoid sunlight to such an extent that vitamin D deficiencies have now become widespread, according to a study conducted by researchers from King’s College London.
The body produces vitamin D upon exposure to the ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. It takes only 15 minutes of sun on the face and hands each day for a fair-skinned person to produce enough vitamin D for their body, although it takes longer for darker-skinned people and those living far from the equator, particularly in the winter. Nevertheless, vitamin D deficiency appears widespread. One recent study from University College London estimated that 12 percent of men and 20 percent of women are clinically deficient in the vitamin, while 57 percent of men and nearly 67 percent of women have insufficient levels.
Vitamin D plays a critical role in bone development and health, and is now also believed to help protect against high blood pressure, cancer, autoimmune diseases and asthma.
“There has been so much effort put into telling people about the damaging effects of ultraviolet light from sunshine, many now take extreme measures to ensure they don’t get exposure by wearing moisturizers with factor 15 all year round,” said lead researcher Veronique Bataille, calling for new guidelines on sun exposure. “We don’t want to say that sunbathing is healthy as there is clearly a risk, but people do need a bit of sunshine to stay healthy.”
Bataille and colleagues measured blood vitamin D levels of 1,414 white women in the United Kingdom and collected information on their skin type, use of tanning beds, and history of foreign holidays and sunburns. They found that contrary to expectation, the women with the lightest skin actually had the lowest levels of vitamin D. The researchers concluded that this was likely due to lighter-skinned women avoiding the sun over fear of skin cancer.
Light-skinned women were also less likely to use tanning beds or take vacations out of Britain.

Preventing Heart Disease with Vitamin D

The fact that vitamin D prevents cancer is now so well known that even some conventional physicians are beginning to recommend it. Vitamin D prevents 77% of all cancers, after all. That’s as close to a “cure” for cancer as you’ll ever get (and it’s free, too, since you can make it yourself!).
But did you also know that vitamin D prevents heart disease? In fact, most people suffering from heart disease are chronically deficient in vitamin D. By correcting their vitamin D levels (through sunlight exposure or by taking vitamin D3 supplements), people can simultaneously halt cancer and prevent heart disease, too.
Here’s a collection of research revealing the amazing power of this “miracle” vitamin to eliminate heart disease. I’d like to add, though, that the previously recommended daily intake of 400 IUs of vitamin D is now considered hazardously low. Psoriasis, eczema, and periodontal disease are lessened by sunlight exposure and high serum vitamin D. Fertility is positively influenced by sunlight exposure and high vitamin D levels. Sunlight enhances immune system function by producing vitamin D. Dozens of disorders other than those mentioned in this summary are related to vitamin D deficiency.
