New research shows that fluoride chemicals added to U.S. public water supplies are not reducing tooth decay as promoted and promised by government agencies, reports the New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation, Inc. (NYSCOF).
sing federal statistics, the West Virginia University Rural Health Research Center reports that urban U.S. children, with more exposure to fluoridated water and dental care, have just as many cavities as less fluoridation-exposed rural children. (1)
The researchers write: “For children’s dental health measures, it was found that fluoridation rates were not significantly related to the measures of either caries or overall condition of the teeth for urban or rural areas.”
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says fluoridation reduces tooth decay. But, this study and others shows it hasn’t. Tooth decay crises are occurring in all fluoridated cities, states and countries. And, the CDC reports the incidence and severity of children’s primary tooth decay recently increased.
“Fortunes are wasted on fluoridation schemes that fail to prevent cavities while unnecessarily exposing children to fluoride’s adverse drug effects,” says attorney Paul Beeber, NYSCOF President.

Why is it that what one government department considers an environmental travesty, another department deems completely safe for the human body? Simple answer: semantics.
A tiny amount of mercury can contaminate a lake and, according to the EPA, cause damage to plumbing pipes and sewage treatment plants.

Toothaches generally occur when a tooth’s nerve root becomes irritated. The most common causes of toothaches are infection, decay, injury, or loss of a tooth. Pain may also occur after a tooth has been pulled. While no one enjoys a painful tooth, the good news is that tooth pain and infections can usually be relieved and healed naturally.
If your toothache comes from an abscess or other infection, combine the use of 1) oil of oregano topically and internally; 2) colloidal silver topically, internally and for swishing; and 3) warm salt water for alternate swishing as follows:
1. Take several drops of oil of oregano under the tongue. Hold for a few minutes and then swish with lots of colloidal silver as frequently as once every hour.
2. Spit out the colloidal silver and then swallow additional colloidal silver (up to 8 ounces total in a day).
3. Gently rub some colloidal silver into the gum area around the tooth.
4. After a few minutes, rub oil of oregano onto the gum area.
5. In between the colloidal silver swishes also do a fairly vigorous warm salt water swish (preferably sea salt) and follow that up with more oil of oregano rubbed into the gums.

FDA Admits Mercury In Cosmetic Products Is Extremely Toxic – So How Is It Safe In Dental Fillings and Vaccines?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an updated warning about skin care products that may contain mercury, including many anti-aging, smoothing, skin-lightening, and beauty lotions and creams sold at ethnic beauty shops and online. Some of the tainted personal care products, most of which are imported, have been found to contain mercury levels far higher than acceptable limits, including one product that reportedly contained 131,000 times the acceptable limit of mercury.
According to the FDA, more than 35 products tested over the years have been found to contain levels of mercury beyond the one part per million (ppm) maximum standard for cosmetic products. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), for instance, tested 27 skin products recently and discovered that 11 of them had levels of mercury far higher than one ppm.

Similarly, a 2010 report by the Chicago Tribune (CT) found that out of 50 skin-lightening creams tested, six contained levels of mercury so high that they are technically illegal. And just like what was found in the MDH study, the CT study revealed that most of the creams containing mercury had levels in the thousands of parts per million, which is known to cause kidney damage and other serious health problems (http://articles.chicagotribune.com).

Parents Sue After Teen Dies During Wisdom Tooth Surgery

The parents of a Maryland teen who died earlier this year during wisdom tooth surgery have sued the oral surgeon and the anesthetist for medical malpractice.
Jenny Olenick, a 17-year-old junior at Marriotts Ridge High School in Woodstock, Md., died in April from complications during the outpatient procedure performed on 5 million Americans each year.
“It’s so hard,” Cathy Garger, Olenick’s mother, told ABCNews.com. “She was the only one we had.”
The civil suit, filed in Howard Country Circuit Court, claims the oral surgeon, Dr. Domenick Coletti, and the anesthiologist, Dr. Krista Michelle Isaacs, were negligent and failed to resuscitate Olenick after her heart rate and blood oxygen level dropped.
Garger and Olenick’s father, John, declined to comment on the pending case, but a spokeswoman for the family said they hope to highlight the surgery’s risks and the need for better emergency training among dentists and oral surgeons.

Amesbury, Mass., Residents Vote To Stop Water Fluoridation Initiative

Residents of the Massachusetts coastal city of Amesbury have successfully defeated a measure that would have restored a policy to once again begin adding sodium fluoride chemicals to the city’s water supply. In a vote of 1,677 to 1,352, 55 percent of area residents declared to city officials and to the world that they are not interested in forcefully medicating their entire community with fluoride chemicals at taxpayers’ expense.
Amesbury first began adding sodium fluoride chemicals to its water supply back in 1967. But in recent years, concerns about the source and quality of the chemicals put the program on hold. Health officials had been pushing to reinstate the fluoridation program, but the local Board of Health decided to present the issue before voters for consideration.
Before the election, when Amesbury was still a town — voters also approved a measure to convert Amesbury from a town into a city during the same election — officials held a town hall meeting to discuss the fluoride issue. The Board of Health voted 3 to 1 to recommend a “yes” vote on the fluoridation measure, but several concerned citizens also showed up to oppose the measure, which was ultimately left up to voters to decide.
In the end, Amesbury residents decided to scrap the fluoridation program despite the Board of Health’s endorsement. And it was all made possible, in part, by the willingness of one local resident, Christopher Martel, who stepped up to the plate and led a campaign to inform his neighbors about the dangers of fluoride.

Cavities and gum diseases are not often regarded as serious diseases, yet they are epidemic throughout our society, from the youngest of children to the oldest of senior citizens. Research more than suggests that the same good nutrition that prevents cavities and gum diseases may also prevent other illnesses.
Dental caries and gum pathology are frequently associated with serious chronic health problems. Multiple independent studies published after 1990 document this. Cavities are associated with poor mental health [1-4]. Elderly individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease had an average of 7.8 teeth with fillings vs. an average of only 2.7 fillings for elderly individuals without dementia [1]. It is likely that the toxic heavy metal mercury, which makes up half of every amalgam filling, is a contributing factor.
A recent authoritative review showed a clear association between cavities and heart diseases [5]. More importantly, this same study showed that people with poor oral health, on average, lead shorter lives. The association between cavities and diabetes is also a subject of active, ongoing research [6-8]. Connections between heart disease, diabetes, and dental decay have been suspected for decades. Many of the scientists who called attention to this have proposed that diets high in sugar and refined carbohydrates were the common cause of these diseases [9-15].
Dental diseases, mental diseases, heart disease, infectious respiratory diseases, and heart disease are all at least partially caused by common failures in metabolism. Such failures are inevitable when there is a deficiency of essential nutrients, particularly vitamins D, C, and niacin.
There is especially strong evidence for a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and cavities. Dozens of studies were conducted in the 1930′s and 1940′s [16-27]. More than 90% of the studies concluded that supplementing children with vitamin D prevents cavities. Particularly impressive was a study published in 1941 demonstrated the preventative affect of “massive” doses of vitamin D [28]. And yet no subsequent studies in the scientific literature suggested a need to follow up and repeat this work.

VA Hospital May Have Infected 2,000 Patients With HIV

(CNN) — A Missouri VA hospital is under fire because it may have exposed more than 1,800 veterans to life-threatening diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.
John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis has recently mailed letters to 1,812 veterans telling them they could contract hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) after visiting the medical center for dental work, said Rep. Russ Carnahan.
Carnahan said Tuesday he is calling for a investigation into the issue and has sent a letter to President Obama about it.
“This is absolutely unacceptable,” said Carnahan, a Democrat from Missouri. “No veteran who has served and risked their life for this great nation should have to worry about their personal safety when receiving much needed healthcare services from a Veterans Administration hospital.”
The issue stems from a failure to clean dental instruments properly, the hospital told CNN affiliate KSDK.
