Efforts to pass a bill that would allow the IRS to deny travel rights to U.S. citizens who the feds merely claim owe $50,000 or more in delinquent taxes represents a de facto move to revoke the citizenship of Americans without due process and in complete violation of the Constitution.
Thanks to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a recently passed Senate bill, the suitably Orwellian entitled ‘Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act’, includes a provision that allows the federal government to revoke passports of Americans accused of owing back taxes.
The legislation now moves to the Congress where, despite a Republican majority, the IRS provision is expected to be retained in the final version of the bill because it will raise an estimated $750 million dollars over ten years.
“There is no requirement that the tax payer be guilty of or even charged with tax evasion, fraud, or any criminal offense — only that the citizen is alleged to owe the IRS back taxes of $50,000 or more,” reports the Daily Economist.
Empowering the IRS to deny fundamental rights on a whim is completely illegal and unconstitutional.
“There are also numerous Supreme Court precedents protecting these same rights,” writes Jack Swint. “Furthermore, the law appears to violate Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution, which forbids “Bills of Attainder”, which are laws providing for the punishment of an individual without benefit of judicial process.”
“It takes away your right to enter or exit the country based upon a non-judicial IRS determination that you owe taxes,” Constitutional Attorney Angel Reyes told FOX Business. “It’s a scary thought that our congressional representatives want to give the IRS the power to detain US citizens over taxes, which could very well be in dispute.”
What’s next? If the feds can bar you from leaving the country merely by claiming you have committed some infraction without having to provide any evidence, the prospect of Americans being abducted and interned indefinitely under the National Defense Authorization Act with a similar absence of due process is just around the corner.

It is now official. The mainstream media is no longer covering Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.
A few weeks ago Dylan Byers of Politico reported that NBC News was the only media organization that still had a reporter covering Ron Paul full-time.
Now Byers has filed an update revealing that Anthony Terrell of NBC News has also been reassigned.
“Ron Paul is officially embedless.” writes Byers, adding that NBC has refused to comment on the decision.
Byers also reveals that other mainstream organizations, including Fox News, have no intention of putting a reporter back out full-time.
“Paul doesn’t have as many events right now as the other candidates in the race,” Hunter Ryan, the politics editor at Fox News Channel, told Byers.
“He is focusing on certain states. I am planning on covering him… [and] a combination of embed and bureau resources will be used to cover Paul going forward.”
“For most political reporters, he is all but irrelevant to the future of the GOP contest.” Byers adds.

‘No Independent Journalism Anymore’ – Ex-Al Jazeera Reporter

Television channels have turned into political parties, pushing the agenda for some outside forces, former Al Jazeera correspondent in Beirut, Ali Hashem, told RT. Hashem has come in spotlight after resigning from the television citing its bias.
In emails leaked by Syrian hackers, Ali Hashem vented his anger over Al Jazeera’s one-sided coverage of Syria and its refusal to cover the events in Bahrain. In an exclusive interview with RT, the former Beirut correspondent Hashem refrained from discussing his resignation, but stressed that these days, independent media is a myth.
“There is no independent media anymore. It is whose agenda is paying the money for the media outlet,” he said. “Politicization of media means that media outlets are today like political parties. Everyone is adopting a point of view, fight for it and bring all the tools and all the means they have in order to make it reach the biggest amount of viewers.”
It is now the job of the viewer to compare the news from several different sources and then make his own conclusions, the journalist believes. “Today we are in the era of open source information and everyone can reach whatever information he wants.”
Hashem said the problem with this picture is that some news outlets can reach bigger audiences than others. “What they say will [seem] to be a fact while it might not be the fact,” he said.
Mass media should be “immune” when it comes to war and conflict, as this guarantees freedom of speech, Ali Hashem believes.
“In the year 2006, Israel bombarded Al-Manar television because they said Al- Manar was doing propaganda war against Israel,” he said. “Al-Manar was on one side of this war and they were supporting the Hezbollah and the resistance and the war against Israel. But does this give Israel the excuse to bombard Al-Manar? Certainly not.”

Breitbart’s Obama Videos Are An October Distraction

Much of the alternative news and the establishment political right has speculated that Andrew Breitbart’s untimely death may have something to do with his opposition to Obama. Some have even suggested that he was murdered to keep compromising tapes of Obama from surfacing. But, at worst, these tapes will prove Obama was a radical left political activist in his youth.
How is this news to anyone? And what purpose does it serve; to get Romney in the White House?
Understandably, it’s a juicy story for conspiracy researchers and for those who oppose Obama. However, Breitbart was a partisan neocon who claimed to be against “Big Government” while promoting preemptive wars and supporting the mythical war on terror. He seemed to be genuine in his bitter partisanship, but he was a poster child for perpetuating the false left-right paradigm.
Now that the tapes are being released by the Breitbart team, they will no doubt take over the news cycle at Fox and other right-wing news outlets. It will be endlessly discussed if Obama was a radical ideologue who hung out with “domestic terrorists” in his youth, or if he was even eligible to be president in the first place with renewed “birther” accusations. It will supposedly be the vetting process that never took place before the 2008 election.

“This is sad. It makes you wonder the real reason FOX pulled the plug.” –KTRN
Judge Andrew Napolitano signed off on Freedom Watch this week with a salute and a promise to keep “defending freedom– everyone’s freedom, whenever I can,”, following the announcement that the show has been axed by Fox Business News.
The Judge closed the last edition of Freedom Watch in the same way he normally does, with a message regarding adherence to the vision of the founding fathers and the hard fought liberties protected by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
Napolitano flagged up the fact that only a third of Americans supported the revolution and another third expressed no interest in the matter. In a clear message to his critics, the Judge noted “The founding fathers risked their lives, their fortunes, and their honor, [but] they were not saints, and originally their cause was not popular.”
As of now, Freedom Watch will be replaced by reruns of The Willis Report.

Massage hasn’t been researched extensively in treating depression, but one study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry suggest that massage therapy may have “potentially significant effects” in alleviating depression and anxiety.
Supplements
Various herbal supplements, such as St. John’s Wart, may help with depression. Increasing your intake of omega-3s and vitamin D could also be effective.
But before taking new supplements, make sure to discuss them with your doctor first, because they may interact with other medications
