It’s Time To Turn Your Health Around!

The holiday season is finally coming to an end and that means the excuses have to end, as well. It’s time to get into the habit of truly taking care of yourself. Lucky, you have me to guide you. Here are my top 12 ways to stay healthy all year long. I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me!

See Natural Healthcare Providers on a Regular Basis

When you have a car that you love and cherish, you keep it clean on the inside and out. You do not wait for the car to make funny noises or stop running; you instead bring the car in on a regular basis for maintenance. This regular maintenance is designed to prevent any problems from occurring. Your body should be treated in a similar fashion. You should be seeing various natural healthcare providers from a variety of disciplines, even when you don’t experience symptoms. Seeing more than one person is valuable so that all bases are covered.

Use Aromatherapy

Smells have a powerful effect on our body. Certain smells evoke chemical reactions in the body. Essential oils have many health benefits besides giving a wonderfully pleasant aroma.

Energetic Rebalancing

Frequency generators have been around for decades. When the frequency of the disease you have has been neutralized, the disease goes away. I personally have been using this technology for the last seven years and I have never in that time been sick. I highly recommend Stephen Lewis’s AIM Program or Mony Vital’s Vital Balancing program. Those are the programs I’ve used for Energetic Rebalancing.

Check Your Body pH

Dr. Morter discovered a specific technique for testing the pH of your saliva and urine. You can do this test with a simple piece of pH paper. It takes less than five minutes. Do this test once a week or as often as you like. If your body pH is too acidic, you know you need to do some things to correct the out of balance state. If your body pH is in the proper alkaline state, you know that the chance of you getting cancer or other diseases is almost zero. This is a great way for you to see firsthand how these various techniques are benefiting you.

Do a Candida Elimination Program

Candida overgrowth is one of the biggest problems in every single person’s life. Do The McCombs Plan to eliminate Candida.

Do Alphabiotics

Alphabiotics is a very powerful treatment that dramatically reduces stress in the body, makes one think clearer, and dramatically reduces muscle tension and pain. It is excellent for increasing energy flow throughout the body and keeping the body’s posture correct.

Do A Cleanse

Get the toxins out by doing a cleanse!

Buy a Shower Filter

You absorb more toxins by taking one shower than by drinking six glasses of water. Your skin absorbs the water from your shower or bath. A hot shower produces steam and turns many of the chemicals in the water into poisonous gases. These gases are inhaled or absorbed through the skin. A good shower filter removes most of the toxins in the water. Use one and you’ll rarely have a bad hair day again.

Get a Chiropractic Adjustment

Every chiropractor uses slightly different techniques. Some are great, some are good, and some not so good. If you have never gotten a chiropractic adjustment, you need one. Because of our lifestyle, our spines get misaligned. Realigning the spine allows energy to flow throughout the entire body. I personally see a chiropractor at least once a month for a tune-up.

Get Something to Neutralize Electromagnetic Chaos

We are being bombarded by electromagnetic energy from hundreds of sources, including satellites, high-tension power lines, computers, cell phones, global positioning systems in our cars, wireless telephones, remote controls, high-definition TVs, etc. We cannot eliminate the electromagnetic energy around us, we can only do things to neutralize the negative effects. Fred Van Liew sells what I believe to be the best product out there to neutralize these negative energies.

See a Herbalist

Like all healthcare practitioners there are individuals that are excellent and whose therapy will give you tremendous, vast and profound results. Seeing a highly-recommended herbalist allows you to be treated in a natural way where you avoid the dangers of drugs.

Get an Air Purifier

The air in your house is most assuredly not pure and clean. You live, work, and sleep in an environment where the air is flat out unhealthy. I absolutely recommend an air purifier for your home, your work space and, most importantly, your bedroom. Since you are breathing all night long, it would be a good idea to be breathing the cleanest, purest air you can. Your work space is the second most important.

KT’s Holiday Gift Ideas

December 12, 2012 by admin

The holiday season is upon us and they can be the most wonderful time of the year and the most difficult when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, for yourself and others. So, this holiday, let’s help each other out by giving gifts that will help someone eat healthierbe healthier, and become more aware and active. You’ll feel great just doing it!

Smoothie Blender with Recipes
This gift is especially perfect for someone who doesn’t have time in the morning for breakfast. Other small kitchen appliances could be a crock pot, rice cooker, juicer, or even a pressure cooker; all great for healthy, organic cooking.

Session with a Holistic Nutritionist
Lots of people try to eat healthy, but are unsure of putting a program together for themselves. A nutritionist can help tailor an eating plan to a person’s individual needs, and create a plan the person is more likely to stick to.

Oil and Vinegar
This could really be a luxurious gift if you purchase a beautiful bottle of organic olive oil, and a bottle of high-quality, pure, organic, natural apple cider vinegar with the “mother” in it and remember place both bottles in a box along with a cruet set appropriate for the recipient.

Massage Gift Certificate
The gift of relaxation is wonderful to receive anytime of the year, but perhaps an especially good gift going into a new year.

Pedometer
Make sure it’s a good one, as some don’t count steps accurately, and include a book that offers guidance about walking and using a pedometer.

Relaxation Music CDs
My favorite ones are; “Timeless Motion” by Daniel Kobialka; “Wind Chants” by Robert Higgins (Gregorian chants), or, “Merlin’s Magic” Reiki music. Then add a handcrafted, organic soy candle with custom blends of aromatherapy-grade essential oils and 100% cotton wicks – to soothe stressed-out nerves.

Stocking stuffers
A jump rope; an exercise video; an exercise stretch band or a set of weights; a State Parks Pass or National Parks Passport; or, a share in a local farm produce co-op for next summer.

Remember to support yourself, your friends, family, and co-workers in enjoying this holiday season by encouraging a “less is best attitude” around the holiday gift list. Shorten your own list of to do’s by letting go of excess. Keep it simple.

What better way to honor this holiday season than by slowing down the fast pace of life and taking a few moments to reflect, to listen and to give the gift of gratefulness to your loved ones. Let the gift of gratefulness spread from your own family and friends, to all living beings around the globe.

Have a wonderful, healthy, and happy holiday season!

“If you want to know what types of food to eat, just look at what healthy and hit people consume.” –KTRN

Being fit and living healthy isn’t about gym memberships and health stores. It’s a lifestyle, a mindset and a habit. Deciding how and what to eat can be a bit overwhelming if you’re just starting your journey towards getting fit and healthy, so I put together a list of 6 foods fit people love and why you should consider adding them to your diet.

1. Cultured Dairy (Amasai, Kefir, or Greek Yogurt)

Why? Improved digestion, Detox, weight loss.

Cultured dairy like Amasai and Kefir are among the greatest of the superfoods. The high levels of probiotics found in cultured dairy don’t just help you detox, they’ve also been proven to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, promote weight loss, and boost immunity (British Medical Journal 2001). Cultured dairy is the highest quality when it’s organic, comes from green-fed cows, is low-temperature processed or raw, and is free of a harmful protein called beta- casein A1.

2. Quinoa

Why? A tasty alternative to grains, with more protein and fiber.

Quinoa is a grain-like food that has become very popular as a gluten-free alternative to grains. It can be cooked like an oatmeal, used in powder form as a flour or even sprouted to make a gluten free sprouted “grain” bread. What you’re actually eating is the seed of the quinoa plant, which is nutritionally similar to beets and spinach. Quinoa is a great source of protein, and is also a good source of fiber, phosphorus, magnesium and iron.

3. Grass-fed Beef

Why? High amounts of Omega-3 and CLA.

Cattle raised naturally on grass, rather than grain–fed cattle, will not have the problems associated with antibiotics, pesticides and hormone residues. This is why those looking to build muscle will find that green-fed beef, raised on pastures free of pesticides and fertilizers, are an essential superfood for body-building needs. High in protein and vitamin B12, beef is a great source of B vitamins and minerals such as zinc, selenium, iron and phosphorous.

All Hype? Gluten-Free Diets May Not Help Many

TIME

Gluten-free products are all the rage these days, but many health-conscious eaters who buy them may be wasting their money, the authors of a new commentary in Annals of Internal Medicine suggest.

Going gluten-free is necessary for people with celiac disease, an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye. The disease causes inflammation in the small intestine and can lead to malnutrition.

Yet many others without celiac disease have also adopted gluten-free lifestyles — no doubt inspired in part by athletes and celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham — in hopes of losing weight, boosting energy and resolving any number of potentially gluten-related symptoms like diarrhea, bloating, gas, headache, ADHD and mouth sores.

Many such adopters have been diagnosed by their doctors with “nonceliac gluten sensitivity,” a condition that by some estimates affects as many as 18 million Americans. But the authors of the commentary, celiac researchers Dr. Antonio Di Sabatino and Dr. Gino Roberto Corazza of Italy’s University of Pavia, question that figure, noting that there’s no official data on the prevalence of nonceliac gluten sensitivity, nor is there any consensus among doctors about how to diagnose it. Unlike with celiac disease, which can be identified through blood tests and bowel biopsies, there’s no good test to determine gluten sensitivity.

What there is, however, is a lot of hype surrounding the supposed benefits of gluten-free eating. Such claims “seem to increase daily, with no adequate scientific support to back them up,” the authors write. “This clamor has increased and moved from the Internet to the popular press, where gluten has become ‘the new diet villain.’”

It’s possible that people who have bad reactions to common gluten-containing foods — pasta, breads, baked goods and breakfast cereal — may actually be sensitive to something else in wheat flour or to other ingredients in the foods, the authors suggest. It’s also possible that some people develop gastrointestinal or other symptoms simply because they believe they’re food-sensitive.

That’s not to say that nonceliac gluten sensitivity doesn’t exist. But the authors say that more clinical research is needed to help define it and to prevent a “gluten preoccupation from evolving into the conviction that gluten is toxic for most of the population.”

In the meantime, until researchers figure out the best way to diagnose gluten sensitivity, the authors discourage people from cutting out gluten entirely, which could lead to a diet that’s lacking in fiber — and put serious dent in your wallet — and suggest that doctors use an “oral challenge,” a test in which a patient drinks a gluten beverage to see if symptoms arise, to help identify likely cases of sensitivity.

Life-Threatening Infectious Disease Responds Better To Homeopathy Than Allopathic Medicine

By: Carolanne Wright

Homeopathic medicine has a long, successful history of prevention and treatment of illness without harmful side effects. Documentation spanning several centuries has shown the incredible effectiveness of homeopathy during some of the most deadly epidemics in history.

Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician in the 1800s, is considered the father of homeopathy. Dr. Hahnemann, a man deeply rooted in the scientific method, critically condemned the medical practices of the day such as bloodletting and purging with medicines made with mercury, lead, and arsenic. He discovered the “Law of Similars” while researching cinchona bark which is used to treat malaria. Hahnemann, in perfect health, began taking this Peruvian bark two times a day for several days. He reported that he began showing identical symptoms to malaria. Upon conclusion of the experiment, he realized medicinal substances create symptoms in healthy people that were almost identical to the diseases they were meant to treat. This was the beginning of Dr. Hahnemann’s distinguished career in homeopathy which lead to widespread acceptance of his method around the world.

Epidemics: Fertile ground for the usefulness of homeopathy

Homeopathic medicine has been used successfully by Hahnemann and others for treatment during some of the most devastating epidemics in history. During the European Typhus Epidemic of 1813, those treated in homeopathic hospitals had a mortality rate of less than 1 percent while those treated with allopathic medicine had a mortality rate well over 30 percent. Documentation for the Russian Cholera Epidemic of 1831 confirmed a death rate of under 10 percent for those treated homeopathically while conventional treatments had a death rate of up to 80 percent.

During the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 that claimed the lives of millions, homeopathic hospitals had a remarkably low mortality rate. Twenty-six thousand cases of the flu were treated homeopathically with 1.05 percent mortality rate while the 24,000 cases that were treated allopathically had a mortality rate of 28.2 percent. Gelsemium was the most commonly used remedy for the H1N1 influenza virus of the pandemic.

Hahnemann was inspired to use homeopathic medicine as a preventative while treating several ailing children in two families. The first family had three children out of four who were ill with scarlet fever. The fourth, who was taking Belladonna for a finger joint problem at the time, remained free from the illness.

Shortly after, a family with eight children, three of which were already infected with scarlet fever, requested Dr. Hahnemann’s expertise to help protect the other five children. Once again, he used Belladonna with positive result. All five children escaped the illness even though they were exposed repeatedly to their unwell siblings. After observing the protective effects of Belladonna against scarlet fever, Hahnemann continued to use this remedy with extraordinary success during epidemics.

Additional disease prevented by homeopathy

During a 1902 smallpox outbreak in Iowa, a Dr. Eaton reported that 2806 people were given Variolinum as a preventative. The rate of protection was an astounding 97 percent which was unheard of in allopathic medicine.

The British Medical Journal reported that during the 1974 meningitis outbreak in Brazil, those who were given Menigococcium prophylaxis were protected from developing the disease 23 more times than those who did not receive treatment.

Homeopathic medicine has also been shown to be astonishingly effective in preventing polio. In several studies involving over 11,000 children, Lathyrus Sativus was given as a ‘vaccine’ against the disease. Not a single case of polio was reported nor were there any documented side effects.

As safe alternative to conventional medicine, homeopathy is remarkably beneficial in preventing and treating many of the most dangerous communicable diseases known to man.

Large Study Confirms That Omega 3s Produce Healthy Babies

Consumption of omega-3 fatty acids is crucial for the development and maintenance of the brain and nervous system, especially in young children. And a new study published in the journal Pediatrics adds to this, having found that pregnant women who supplement with Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) during their pregnancies produce children that are much healthier and less prone to sickness than those born to women who do not supplement with, or otherwise consume enough, DHA.

Dr. Usha Ramakrishnan, associate professor at Emory University’s Hubert Department of Global Health, and her team conducted a randomized, placebo-controlled trial on 1,100 pregnant women and 900 infants from Mexico. Some women received 400 milligrams (mg) of DHA, while others received a placebo, during the 18 to 22 weeks of gestation through childbirth.

After all the women eventually gave birth, children born to mothers in the DHA group experienced less overall sickness, and shorter duration of sickness. Some of the results are as follows:

-At one month of age, babies from the DHA group were 25 percent less likely to catch a cold or have a cough with phlegm or wheezing.

-At three months of age, babies from the DHA group experienced 14 percent less illness time than those from the placebo group.

-And at six months, DHA babies had less fevers, nasal secretions, breathing problems, and rashes than babies from the control group.

“This is a large scale, robust study that underscores the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy,” remarked Ramakrishnan. “Our findings indicate that pregnant women taking 400 mg of DHA are more likely to deliver healthier infants.”

The form of DHA used in the study was derived from algae, which is not necessarily an ideal form. In some cases, companies are actually using genetically-modified (GM) algae to create omega-3 oils. Monsanto is even working on gaining FDA approval for a GM soybean that artificially produces omega-3s, which is why it is important to know the source of your omega-3s before consuming them.

DHA, as well as the entire gamut of omega-3s that includes arachidonic acid (ARA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), can be found in natural foods like grass-fed meats, salmon, flax, and hemp. They can also be found from high-quality fish and cod liver oils, as well as salmon oil.

My Viewpoint On Protein Shakes

July 18, 2011 by admin

Someone called into my daily radio program the other day and asked me for my opinion on protein shakes. Let me give you my opinion on protein shakes, superfood smoothies, and anything else that you make in a blender or a Vitamix type of thing…

There are health nuts out there, and I say that affectionately of course. Many of these people are a little fanatical and they believe that if you want to be healthy, you have to have at least a blender, but ideally a Vitamix.

They believe that you should take an apple and throw it into the blender. Then take some kale, cucumber, and maybe some superfoods, like spirulina powder, whey protein, or ginseng root, and you put those ingredients into a Vitamix and turn that sucker on and it goes crazy and liquefies everything into a drinkable beverage. Some health advocates believe that this is the best way to get the nutrients your body needs. I do not believe that. Don’t get me wrong; that drink will be loaded with vitamins, minerals, protein, and living enzymes, but I don’t think it’s helping your body get any healthier. I think it is actually hurting your body.
