It’s Almost Over…

The holiday season is finally almost over, so let’s start the de-stressing process….

Ice cream seems like a quick fix, but you’re better off making some wise stress-busting diet choices such as:

  • Eating oatmeal, which provides more of all the B-Vitamins (except for pantothenic acid), than black beans, brown rice, or whole grain bread.
  • Trying dried apricots to help keep blood sugar levels even. Stress causes the body to release hormones that cause blood sugar levels to fluctuate, triggering cravings and anxiety.
  • Anxiety is associated with deficiency in the mineral selenium; one T chopped Brazil nuts, or 3 nuts, will provide you with your entire 200 mcg. daily requirement; almonds, pecans and walnuts contain 6, 6, & 21 respectively.
  • Culinary herbs like basil, ginger and thyme contain mild sedative compounds, but according to experts, cooking them destroys those calming compounds; so, try eating raw in a salad.
  • Stress suppresses the immune system; boost immunity by getting at least 200 mg. of Vitamin C daily: 1 C halved strawberries = 86 mg., 1 kiwi = 74 mg., and 1 C of pineapple chunks = 24 mg.
  • To end your day, brew a cup of chamomile, lemon balm or valerian tea, which all contain anti-anxiety compounds. Steep the herb (1 tea bag, 3 T fresh or 1-2 tsp. dried) in covered cup of water; strain after 5 min., drink and enjoy (or, drink 1-3 cups throughout your day).

15 Ways To Beat Stress This Holiday Season

December 5, 2012 by admin

The holidays are officially upon us and that means stress levels are rising to an all time high! Here are some helpful and essential tips to lower your stress levels and allow you to have a relaxing and more importantly, fun, holiday season!

1. Emphasize an organic, whole foods diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, complex carbohydrates, and adequate amounts of essential fatty acid.

2. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day, to avoid dehydration, a common but overlooked cause of stress.

3. Be sure to eat a healthy breakfast. Skipping breakfast can add to stress levels by making you more tired and irritable.

4. Avoid all sugars, refined carbohydrates, food additives and preservatives, and processed foods, and minimize your intake of alcohol and caffeine throughout the day.

5. Regularly practice relaxation exercises and/or meditation.

6. Exercise at least three times each week, for 30 minutes each session. Gentle aerobic exercises combined with moderate weight training can significantly relieve stress and improve your overall mood. Be sure not to overexert yourself, however, as doing so will only increase your stress levels.

7. Useful nutritional supplements include vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin E, as well as a complete multivitamin/multimineral formula.

8. Useful herbs for dealing with stress including American ginseng, chamomile, passionflower, and valerian root, all of which can be taken as teas.

9. Bach flowers and other flower essences can help to heal unresolved or inappropriately expressed negative emotions that can cause stress, as well as many other physical health problems.

10. Get adequate amounts of sleep each night and be sure to go to bed at the same time.

11. Set up your daily schedule so that you have plenty of time to deal with your daily tasks and focus on accomplishing those that are the most important first.

12. Become more conscious of your fears and worries and examine them objectively. Doing so can significantly reduce their hold on you.

13. Avoid long periods of isolation. Spend regular quality time with your loved ones. If you live alone, seek out your friends.

14. Find and devote yourself to one or more hobbies that you truly enjoy.

15. And finally, cultivate your sense of humor and laugh more often!

Top 10 Herbs And Spices For Strengthening Your Immune System

“Need to boost your immune system? Try these herbs.” –KTRN

Of the many systems working within the human body, the immune system is an excellent example of complex efficiency. A network of participating cells and organs, it synchronizes its responses when defending the body from infection and disease.

In its element, it has the capacity to remember diseases it has encountered and produce secretions and cells that can effectively defend the body from another recurrence. Moreover, it has an advanced communication system that can trigger an immediate response to an emergency and act according to the severity of the infection. Activated immune cells start producing substances that allow it to recruit other immune cells and guide it to the site of attack while at the same time allowing it to control behavior and growth.

However, when the system malfunctions by causing an inappropriate response to substances or cells that are native to the body, it causes autoimmune diseases that will require the intervention of medication that will suppress the system’s response. What causes the system to malfunction, however, is still unclear. It is believed that exposure to some drugs or bacteria by people with susceptible genes cause this phenomenon.

When totally compromised the body is left defenseless, thus leaving it vulnerable to disease.

Helping the body’s defense system
The body’s defense system is only as dependable as the support it gets. Some people are just blessed with a good set of genes that ensure a strong immune system. For others who are not as lucky, they must work for immunity by observing proper nutrition, sufficient rest, a healthy active lifestyle, plenty of sun and reduced stress. Recent studies have shown that getting enough of these while cutting down on unhealthy habits and avoiding processed foods restores the immune system to peak performance.

Observing proper sanitation also plays a vital role in keeping the immune system working. It is recognized as the best preventive medicine and its actual practice can reduce outbreaks and diseases, translating to significant economic, environmental as well as social benefits.

Antibiotics and vaccination as remedies to assist the body’s defenses against disease have now been debunked by recent findings. Of late, antibiotics have been shown to attack beneficial bacteria in the stomach and suppress immune functions.

Foods that naturally boost the immune system
Foods that boost the body’s immune system can offer a lot of healthy options for those who wish to be more conscious in what they take in. To be sustained, the immune system heavily depends on the stomach for support. Malnourished individuals are more susceptible to disease as opposed to those who observe a healthy nutritious diet. Below are some of these examples:

1. Echinacea – Echinacea is a popular herb that has been identified to boost immunity. Combined with goldenseal, another herb, or enjoyed alone as tea, this member of the daisy family has been found to prevent and treat upper respiratory tract infections as well as the common cold.

Dr. Richard Schulze Blog

By Dr. Schulze

“Dr. Schulze explains why his clinic was closed years ago.  It wasn’t because people were complaining.  It was closed because they were being cured.  How crazy is that?”  –KTRN

Dear Dr. Schulze,

My question is simple.

Why are you not featured on Good Morning America, or 20-20 or 60 minutes? I try to figure it out for myself, and the only conclusion I can reach is perhaps if the world at large, through mega-media learns about you, I won’t be able to get my SuperFood or anything else you have, because of the flash mob result!

My wife and I have been on your juicing program and SuperFood – SuperFood Plus for over 15 years. I’m 72, my wife is 69, and neither of us has ever been to a hospital. We never visit doctors, not once, have we had the flu or colds. …

ANSWER

Dear Joe,

I want you to know how much I appreciate your letter. For me, I never get tired of evangelizing the power of Natural Healing and Herbal Medicine, and I NEVER get tired of getting letters like yours with miracles testimonies. I have seen so many miracles in my life, helping people to bring themselves back from deaths door, but for all the people reading the BLOG every week, I can guarantee you Joe, your letter will inspire relatives to act and it will save many lives. So I thank you personally, and from my customers, for taking the time to write this letter.

Why I am not on Good Morning America, 20/20 or 60 Minutes?

That’s a great question; I think I have a few answers for this.

My clinic was closed not because I ever had a patient complain to the authorities, not one. It was closed as best as I can see because…

My patients were an embarrassing living testimony to the great failure of Medical Doctors, Hospitals and Pharmaceutical Drugs.

Dr. Richard Schulze’s Blog

“Dr. Schulze is the man. Here he explains and demonstrates that with the right herbs and nutrition, even AIDS can be wiped out.” –KTRN

QUESTION
Dear Dr. Schulze,

My brother went into the hospital in January after falling and hitting his head in the kitchen. We knew something was wrong when he came to visit us for Christmas from Florida. He seemed sick but we weren’t really sure. He was sweating through his clothes at night and his legs kept giving out on him. He started not being able to make it to the bathroom on time and also lost his bowels one night.

We took him to the ER in Santa Barbara and they ran lots of tests to find out that he was HIV positive with very advanced AIDS (10+ years).

They gave him 30 days to live!

The medical doctors put him on chemotherapy with some new, “exciting” trial drugs. My Mom and I agreed that we wanted him in the hospital for the 24-hour care he would receive (diaper changing, bed baths, and physical therapy for movement of his limbs) but did not want him to have any chemotherapy or crazy new drugs.

We worked out a plan to take shifts at the hospital during medication dispersal so we could take home and throw away all the prescribed poison. The only thing we gave him was organic applesauce with your SuperFood Plus powder. We have continued the applesauce / SuperFood Plus plan and my brother has gone from his deathbed in the hospital to talking again, walking again, going to the bathroom on his own again, and new blood work shows his blood counts are ALL up in the healthy range and no more AIDS.

It’s only March and we have seen this much progress!

The doctors will document their medications as successful but we know it was all you, Dr. Schulze.

It’s a Dr. Schulze Miracle! Thanks for saving my brother’s life.

ANSWER

Dear Anna,

You are AWESOME! This is exactly what the relatives of many of my patients did, flushed the toxic wonder drugs down the toilet and gave the herbs instead. Who cares who gets the healing credit? All that matters is that your brother is ALIVE, and Getting STRONGER!

HIV and AIDS
So everyone gets up to speed here, once you are infected with the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), it can lay dormant in your body for months, years, a decade or even forever. This depends on your level of health, your lifestyle and the strength of your immune system. This is called asymptomatic HIV infections, which simply means you don’t have any symptoms associated with the infection.

Asymptomatic HIV infection can progress to symptomatic HIV infection, which means that now you start to notice that you have symptoms of having the infection, and a weakened immune system because of it. Symptoms are like most viral infections, including fever, sweating, muscle aches and swollen lymph nodes.

HIV can eventually turn into AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). This is considered the final stages of HIV infection, where your immune system is greatly compromised and other aggressive diseases begin to appear, like other bacterial and viral attacks, and even cancer. AIDS is said to exist when you have 2 additional opportunistic infections and also a T-Immune cell count below 200.

Is your lawn perfectly manicured but only contains un-edible plants? Why not transform your backyard into an edible garden. Imagine never having to shop for salad or veggies again, how much would you save? Watch this video of an urban family in LA and discover how they are able to harvest 3 tons of organic food annually from their 1/10 acre garden.

Homegrown Revolution is a short informational introduction to a homegrown project that has been called a new revolution in urban sustainability. In the midst of a densely urban setting in downtown Pasadena, California, radical change is taking root. For over twenty years, the Dervaes family have transformed their home into an urban homestead and a model for sustainable agriculture and urban living. Calling this project, “Path to Freedom,” the Dervaes Family shows that change is possible.

As a family for this new paradigm, they harvest 3 tons of organic food annually from their 1/10 acre garden while incorporating many back-to-basics practices, as well as solar energy and biodiesel in order to reduce their footprint on the earth’s resources. Environmentalism and the health of our planet is a theme that weaves through their life. It is meant to inspire and encourage others – young and old – to take a look at what they have and realize that change can begin with a single step and can be created right in our own backyards.

Little-Known Herbal Remedies Help Wtih Asthma And Bronchial Distress

Natural News

By Paul Fassa

“Here is more proof that natural remedies really do work.  And to think people are still taking pharmaceutical drugs. Why?” –KTRN

There has been a resurgence of asthma and other lung issues, especially among children, over the past few decades. Whether from chemtrails, outrageously increased vaccination schedules, or both – and more – is undetermined.

But the suffering is the same, and the mainstream medical solutions of inhaled steroids or calcium blockers offer short term relief with long term health hazards.

As drugs, their usefulness tends to diminish in effectiveness or duration, promoting increased use that causes those other health issues to come on more quickly. It is a vicious cycle that can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, mental disorders, cardiac arrest and premature death.

That’s why both herbal remedies for lung issues, khella and lobelia, should be primary choices for asthma, COPD and other breathing problems.

About khella
Khella, commonly called bishop’s weed, is both a vasodilator (dilating blood vessels), and a bronchial dilator. It accomplishes both without caffeine-like or other stimulation affecting the adrenal glands.

It also acts to smooth and strengthen heart muscles to enable a stronger heart beat. Khella even promotes gall bladder bile flow and helps eliminate urinary tract stones. In other words, unlike pharmaceuticals designated for asthma that destroy health, khella promotes good cardiac and overall health.

Khella or bishop’s weed is available wherever you can find over-the-counter natural herbal remedies. It can come in extracts or tinctures, tablets, or used as a tea. The extracts and tablets are recommended for daily use.

Though not recommended for use during an asthma attack, using khella daily as recommended can go far with preventing or minimizing acute attacks. This will at least minimize or diminish the use of asthma pharmaceuticals for acute attacks.

Dosage varies slightly, depending on the delivery type, but taking one of those doses just before going to bed is important for asthmatics. It is common for asthmatics to endure asthma attacks that interrupt sleep patterns needed for restoring immune system energy.

Khella can be used during a bout with bronchitis to ease up congestion and open bronchial passages and airways. It is even better to use it in conjunction with lobelia, which tends to offer immediate relief from asthma attacks or other bronchial based breathing problems.

Healing Cancer Naturally

Food Matters

By Mary Laredo

“Cancer is easily curable and preventable. Don’t let the cancer industry fool you that you need chemo right away – they just want your money.” –KTRN

In 1971, President Nixon declared a war on cancer. In the ensuing decades, tens of billions of dollars have been spent on the cause yet a cure by orthodox means remains elusive. By any standards this campaign has been a failed endeavour; or worse, a shameful fraud. Progress is a myth, and sustaining hope for the development of a safe and effective cancer drug is pointless. It’s up to each individual to empower themselves with knowledge of the myriad ways to eradicate cancer without harming the body. Although it’s easier to prevent cancer than to reverse it once it has taken hold, it is nevertheless reversible with holistic therapies that address imbalances of the body, mind and spirit. This is not an opinion; it is a statement of fact that’s based on this author’s first-hand experience.

A comprehensive approach to healing cancer includes at least the following eight factors:

1. Proper nutrition and clean water
2. Detoxification
3. Immune building
4. Oxygen therapy
5. Natural chemotherapies
6. Lifestyle changes: adequate sleep, sunlight & exercise
7. A positive attitude
8. Spiritual cleansing

Regardless of the cancer’s aggressiveness, the body will respond to this holistic approach – the speed and degree to which it does so is commensurate with the diligence and extent to which these eight factors are applied. No cancer treatment, conventional or otherwise, comes with an iron-clad guarantee; however, it’s important to consider that orthodox treatments ravage the body and ignore the underlying causes while alternative treatments strengthen the body and address its healing requirements. Reason and logic side with alternative therapies.

These guidelines are merely an overview of what a comprehensive holistic protocol would include. The term “cancer survivor” refers to those who have been diagnosed with the disease and are still alive – whether they are in remission or not. The cancer survivor should adopt as many of these strategies as is feasible, slowly incorporating them into one’s lifestyle and working with a naturopath if necessary. A holistic healer can be located through the help of a reputable chiropractor, acupuncturist or other practitioner of the healing arts. A health food store may also provide contacts.

It’s useful to determine whether the body’s chronic stressors include specific nutritional deficiencies, absorption problems and/or the burden of toxic heavy metals. This insight is possible through analysis of hair, urine or blood, and will help determine which supplements and therapies will enhance treatment. Without addressing these conditions, optimum healing may be delayed or prevented.
1. Nutrition
Proper nutrition and pure filtered water is critical to a successful anti-cancer strategy. Diet alone can make or break the effectiveness of any cancer treatment and is therefore the most important strategic point. Knowing which foods feed cancer cells, which interfere with the treatment, and which assist in healing is vital.

Refined sugar feeds and strengthens cancer cells and should be the first substance to be eliminated. Sugar substitutes, refined flour and trans fatty acids damage the body and numerous studies link them to cancer. Dairy and all mucus-forming foods should also be avoided. Processed foods, carbonated beverages, coffee, alcohol, chlorine and fluoride fall into the category of foods and substances that interfere with healing and may fuel the cancer’s growth. Conversely, a diet of nutrient-rich foods will enhance all levels of the healing process.

All plant foods contain nutrients that aid healing. Herbs, fruits and vegetables have properties that protect against and inhibit the proliferation of cancer while strengthening, cleansing and repairing the body. These include green leafy vegetables, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc.), sea vegetables, fruits (especially berries and dark grapes with seeds and skins), garlic, ginger, turmeric and green tea, among many others. A diet containing an abundance of organic plant foods provides layers of nutritional protection.

Top 5 Best Herbs For Treating The Flu

Natural News

By Christina Luisa

“It’s easy to prevent the flu. There are many different things you can do to avoid influenza – here are some herbs that will do the trick.” –KTRN

There are no known cures for the common flu but there are many natural flu remedies that are highly effective at easing flu symptoms and reducing the duration of the illness (http://www.naturalnews.com/026156.html). Certain herbs have been used as natural flu remedies for generations and can provide both protection from the flu and relief of symptoms. Here are the top five anti-flu herbs to keep around.

Echinacea
Results of archeological digs indicate that Native Americans may have used echinacea (echinacea purpurea) for more than 400 years to treat infections, snake bites and wounds, as well as a general “cure-all.”(http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/echinacea-000239.htm)

Scientific research has shown that the herb can keep immune systems healthy and strong, protecting it from common pathogens like the influenza virus. Research shows that echinacea extract works against an enzyme called hyaluronidase that destroys the body’s defenses against diseases. Studies also suggest that echinacea may be helpful in not only destroying viruses like certain strains of influenza but slowing tumor growth.

Elderberry
Elderberry (sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis) has been used for centuries as a tonic for colds, flu and sinus infections (http://cms.herbalgram.org/herbclip/388/news127.html). The seventeenth century herbalist, John Evelyn, referred to it as a remedy “against all infirmities what-so-ever.”

While elderberry has been used for many generations as a medicinal tea, it has also recently been discovered that the botanical contains viburnic acid, a compound that encourages perspiration and aids in detoxifying body tissues. This means that elderberry can help reduce fever, purify the blood and cleanse the body’s cells of pathogens.

Most of the elements that make up the elder flower have been used medicinally throughout history including the stems, leaves, berries and flowers. Israeli virologists have found that elderberry extract has proved to be specifically active against the influenza virus by blocking replication very effectively (http://www.naturalnews.com/022218.html). Elder has many other health attributes as well and is safe for consumption by children.

At the first sign of flu symptoms, take a hot infused homemade tea of elderberry tincture, yarrow and peppermint right before bed to induce sweating and promote a good night’s rest.
