According to a report released by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), nearly one in ten of all U.S. children are diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is time a more natural approach was implemented.
Currently, diagnosis of ADHD appears to rely on observation of the child’s behavior and attention span compared to his peers. A doctor will ask parents, caregivers and teachers to complete a questionnaire of the child’s behavior in a variety of settings. The results are then compared to a diagnostics manual, currently the DSM-IV, and a treatment plan is prepared from there. With no definitive way to test for ADHD, there leaves great room for error and mis-diagnosis.
Children and Teens who are diagnosed with ADHD are often prescribed more than one medication. Those who express behavioral problems may be on a stimulant for the ADHD symptoms and an anti-depressant for mood problems.
Drugs used to treat ADHD often contain stimulants. These stimulant drugs come with side effects such as increased anxiety, irritability, stomach aches, headaches and decreased appetite. Worse still, stimulant drugs have been linked to an increase of sudden unexplained death. The National Alliance Against Mandated Mental Health Screening and Psychiatric Drugging of Children, lists the names of children and teens who have died from taking ADHD drugs.
Causes of hyperactivity
A hyperactive child may display symptoms such as unpredictable or unrestrained behavior, a short attention span, irritability, tantrums or depression. Medical symptoms may include aches, pains, dizziness, bladder problems or low grade fever.
Any form of abnormal behavior, such as hyperactivity in children, can be the result of a range of factors: emotional stress and psychological or physical abuse. These should be properly evaluated by a professional, such as a child psychiatrist or psychologist.
There is mounting evidence to show that exposure to chemicals such as food additives and/or poor nutrition can cause allergies or intolerances in children.
According to Dr. Ben Feingold of the Kaiser Permanent Medical Center in San Francisco, added chemicals could provoke a reaction in some children which manifests itself in hyperactive behavior. Dr. Feingold recommended a diet that consists of eliminating all foods known to contain chemical additives, colorants and preservatives or foods that are tinned or processed.

My October 3, 2011 blog on The Huffington Post described a recent precedent-setting criminal case in which a Winnipeg, Manitoba judge confirmed my written opinion and courtroom testimony that Prozac adverse drug effects drove a 16-year-old boy to stab a friend to death. I have now made the judge’s opinion available online and also as a part of my more extensive report on the case on my website.
In the case of “C.J.P,” Judge Robert Heinrichs concluded, “Dr. Breggin’s explanation of the effect Prozac was having on C.J.P.’s behavior both before that day and in committing an impulsive, inexplicable violent act that day corresponds with the evidence” (p. 18). My written report in the case stated, “At the time of the assault, [C.J.P] was suffering from a Prozac-Induced Mood Disorder (292.84) with manic features (especially extreme irritability) caused by Prozac. I want to emphasize that, within a reasonable degree of medical certainty, he would not have become violent without the exposure to Prozac, and he will not become violent again.”
Judge Heinrichs also found, “There is clear medical and collateral evidence that the Prozac affected his behavior and judgment, thereby reducing his moral culpability” (p. 20). In my report I observed that C.J.P.’s adverse reactions to Prozac exactly paralleled the description of adverse drug reactions contained in the FDA-approved label for Prozac, including the “emergence of anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania, mania, other unusual changes in behavior, worsening of depression, and suicidal ideation, especially early during antidepressant treatment and when the dose is adjusted up or down” (p. 8). C.J.P. had deteriorated emotionally over a three month period on Prozac, including an increase in dosage 17 days prior to the assault.
The case of C.J.P. and its violent outcome can be compared to a similar case that I describe in “Medication Madness: The Role of Psychiatric Drugs in Cases of Violence, Suicide and Crime.” A very gentle teenage girl whom I called Emily Ashton developed a sudden urge to thrust a knife into her mother’s back during her second week of taking Prozac. Like C. J. P., she was 16 years old; but unlike him, she showed no outward signs of a worsening mental condition and displayed no anger at all until the sudden compulsive urge to stab her mother began to overtake her. At the time, there were no angry conflicts in the family. Fortunately, Emily told her mother about the bizarre and violent compulsion. As in C.J.P.’s case, Emily’s mother knew that violence was wholly out of character for her daughter and she suspected the Prozac.
Again as in C.J.P.’s case, Emily’s mother took her back to her prescribing family doctor who then referred her to a psychiatrist. There the comparison ends. Unlike C.J.P.’s tragic case, the consultant psychiatrist recognized the problem as Prozac-induced and immediately stopped the anti-depressant, after which the compulsion gradually subsided. Emily went on to live a normal, productive adult life and to raise a family. Nonetheless, she continued to feel guilty about her violent impulse that overcame her at the age of 16. She felt relieved many years later when we talked and I was able to reassure her that the impulse had been chemically-driven by the drug.
All of the newer anti-depressants carry the same warnings as Prozac concerning “anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania, mania, other unusual changes in behavior, worsening of depression and suicidal ideation.” These drugs include Celexa, Lexapro, Luvox, Prozac or Serafem, Paxil, Cymbalta, Effexor, Wellbutrin or Zyban, and Pristiq.
Many tragic acts of suicide and violence could be averted by reducing or stopping the use of anti-depressant drugs, by greater professional and public awareness of the dangers associated with these drugs, by withdrawal from the drugs at the earliest sign of mental and behavioral deterioration, and by greater reliance on individual and family psychotherapy.
The effectiveness of anti-depressants has been increasingly called into question. At the same, the risk of withdrawing from them has become more obvious, and cutting back or stopping them requires experienced clinical supervision and a slow, cautious taper. Many psychotherapists successfully treat depressed patients without resort to these drugs.

Should you drink five or six cups of coffee a day to try to prevent cancer? Millions of people are asking themselves this question following research suggesting coffee lowers the risk of breast and prostate cancer.
In the past, reports that coffee lead to insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, digestive problems and muscle tremors gave the beverage a bad rap. But new studies in recent years have shown that coffee can actually provide health benefits.
The latest research suggests that coffee can help prevent prostate cancer and breast cancer, the sceond most common cancers in men and women, respectively.
Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm found that drinking coffee reduces the risk of antiestrogen-resistant estrogen- receptor (ER)- negative breast cancer among postmenopausal women. The study was published in May in the journal Breast Cancer Research.
“Women who drank five cups of coffee a day had a 57 percent lower risk for ER-negative cancer than those who drank less than one cup a day,” said Jingmei Li, author of the study.
She said ER-positive and ER-negative cancers are generally considered biologically distinct diseases and have been associated with remarkably different gene expression profiles.
Researchers tested 5,929 women between the ages of 50 and 74. Questionnaires were used to assess behavioral and health characteristics including coffee consumption, smoking and drinking patterns, physical activity routines, family history of breast cancer, hormone therapy protocols, nutritional intake, body mass index and education level, according to Li.
Lizette White,43, of Evanston, isn’t a regular coffee drinker, but when she does have a taste for the beverage, she usually goes to Kafein located in downtown Evanston. She said she found the research to be interesting, but not a reason to drink more coffee.
“If there were actual proof that there was a big difference, I might boost my coffee consumption a little bit, but I don’t think I would ever be the person drinking five cups a day,” White said.
Li said the study didn’t collect specific information on what kind of coffee was consumed and that the research doesn’t prove a cause-and-effect relationship.
“Before I go tell my neighbors to start drinking more coffee than they already do, I would like to know what is the biological mechanism at work here?,” Li said.
Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found in another study, that the biologically active compounds in coffee may lower the risk of lethal prostate cancer. The research was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute last month.
Men, who drank six or more cups of coffee a day, had an 18 percent lower risk of prostate cancer compared with men who did not drink coffee. Caffeine wasn’t found to be a factor in the study because those who drank decaf had the same protection as those who drank regular coffee.
Dr. Gerald Chodak, a former University of Chicago urologist who now consults and educates people about prostate cancer, said doctors can’t recommend patients to drink more coffee based on the study.
“It doesn’t prove cause and effect,” he said.
Researchers tested 47,911 men between the ages of 40 and 74 from 1986 to 2006. As in the breast cancer study, participants were given questionnaires to assess their coffee intake and food habits. Starting in 1986, participants reported their intake of regular and decaffeinated coffee every four years. The study was adjusted for smoking, obesity and other variables.
Chodak, author of the new book “Winning the Battle Against Prostate Cancer,” said researchers did a good job and that the information is recent, but it’s not enough to tell people to change their behavior.
“You tell people if they’re going to change their behavior it should be based on a study that has a clear result and this study design does not do that,” he said. “It might be true, but it might not be. And you don’t know the adverse effects of drinking six cups of coffee.”
Howard Soule, chief science officer at the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Santa Monica, Calif., said the research is an interesting observation. He said although it’s an important finding that should be tested, it’s not likely researchers are going to do an experiment.
“This is an observational study that generated the finding that six cups of coffee result in less prostate cancer,” he said. “It’s not a prospective clinical trial.”
Soule said that researchers believe the antioxidants associated with coffee beans protect tissues from environmental insults that cause cancer. He said people should consult with their doctors before making any changes.
“If they’re going to start drinking six cups of coffee a day, they need to talk to their doctor first and hopefully their doctor is well informed,” he said.
Paul Olczak, 26, of Evanston, found the research interesting since his father has late-stage prostate cancer, but doesn’t think the findings affect his life. He said he drinks four or five cups of coffee a day because he likes it. He said as an engineer, drinking coffee is the thing to do.
“It’s like a social norm,” he said. “If you don’t drink black coffee, you’re less of an engineer.”
Joseph DeRupo, director of external member relations and communications at the National Coffee Association, said 58 percent of all Americans drink coffee every day and the average number of cups per day is 3.4 per coffee drinker.
He said all of the research is welcomed by coffee drinkers who want to know that drinking coffee is good for them.
“Instead of having them drink more, it will stop them from feeling a need to drink less because there are no longer those old negative myths,” he said. “They have all been debunked.”
DeRupo said the science behind the healing powers of coffee makes sense.
“There are health benefits that come from this natural product,” he said. “It’s a bean that’s grown naturally and like any natural plant, it has many properties.”
Martin Zeff, 24, of Evanston, is also a regular customer at Kafein. He said although studies report coffee being good for those who consume it, he doesn’t plan to increase his coffee intake.
“I feel like if I drink six cups of coffee a day, maybe I wouldn’t have prostate cancer, but I’d be too twitchy to live in a normal environment,” he said. “That is way too much caffeine for one person to ever drink in a day.”

The FDA today announced steps to remove more than 500 prescription cold, cough, and allergy products from the market because of potential safety concerns.
The FDA asked companies to stop manufacturing the 500 products within 90 days and stop shipping them within 180 days. Some manufacturers must stop making and shipping their products immediately, the FDA warns.
There are no data on how often these now-banned medications are prescribed today, but many doctors may be unaware that they contain unapproved ingredients because these drugs are listed in the Physicians’ Desk Reference and may be advertised in medical journals.
Questions on Drug Safety
The FDA does not know if these prescription drugs are safe or not largely because they were grandfathered in before changes to the FDA’s drug approval process were enacted.
“We don’t know what they are, whether they work properly, or how they are made,” said Deborah M. Autor, director of the FDA’s Office of Compliance at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) in Silver Spring, Md., during a teleconference. “The problem is that we don’t know what the problem is.”
For example, some of these cough, cold, and allergy drugs are labeled as “time-release.” These are complicated to manufacture, and the FDA has not reviewed whether the active ingredient is released in a consistent matter over a period of time, she says. “They may be released too slowly, too quickly, or not at all.”
Kids Under Age 2
Others contain an “irrational” combination of the same types of products, such as two or more antihistamines, and some are inappropriately labeled for use by infants and young children, she says. Many contain the same ingredients as the over-the-counter cough and cold products that are no longer supposed to be used in kids under 2.
Yolandra Hancock, MD, a pediatrician at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., praises the FDA’s move.
“The new FDA decision supports modern-day pediatric practice to avoid cough syrups in children under 2 because they do more harm than good,” she says. Some may slow down breathing, and others decrease cough and allow mucus to sit in the chest, where it can cause other problems such as lung infection, she says.
“I fully support the FDA’s move in controlling access to these medications in children; it is highly appropriate and long overdue,” she says.
As to the risks these drugs pose, “for the most part, [these adverse reactions] are not serious,” says Charles E. Lee, MD, medical officer of the division of new drugs and labeling compliance at the CDER.
After the FDA crackdown on the use of over-the-counter cough and cold medicine in children younger than 2, the number of emergency room visits for adverse events decreased by 50%, he says.
“We also know that 15% of these events came from prescription cough, cold, and allergy products and included sedation/drowsiness and irritability,” Lee says.

On Friday, Glenn Beck announced on his radio show that he will be taking a brief leave of absence for medical reasons. “There is something wrong with my voice, and we’re not sure what it is,” Beck said, according to a transcript on his website.
“They’re going to be doing CAT scans and MREs or MRIs and PET scans and they’re going to be doing blood work like crazy.”
In July, the Fox News host admitted that he is suffering from macular dystrophy, an eye disorder that causes vision loss. “Yes, I have a problem with my eyes,” Beck told an audience of 6,000 in Salt Lake City. “A couple of weeks ago, I went to the doctor because I can’t focus my eyes … So I went to the best doctor I could find… he did all kinds of tests, and he said I have macular dystrophy.”
Glenn Beck may not know it, but it is almost certain he is another victim of Rumsfeld Plague. On September 29, the New York Times published a long article about Beck. “His Mormonism forbids coffee, but he consumes a lot of Diet Coke and chocolate,” writes Mark Leibovich.
Coca-Cola began putting the “sugar substitute” aspartame in Diet Coke in 1982. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious including seizures and death.
In 1999, the Independent on Sunday discovered that the maker of aspartame, Monsanto, uses genetically engineered bacteria to produce the “sweetener” at its U.S. production plants. Aspartame is made by combining phenylalanine, which is naturally produced by bacteria, with another amino acid. To make the bacteria produce more phenylalanine, Monsanto has genetically engineered them. “Increasingly, chemical companies are using genetically engineered bacteria in their manufacturing process without telling the public,” said Dr. Erik Millstone, of the Science Policy Research Unit at Sussex University, and a member of the National Food Alliance, told the newspaper.
Here’s what Glenn Beck needs to know — aspartame is linked to blindness. It is made up of 50% phenylalanine, 40% aspartic acid and 10% methyl alcohol. Methyl alcohol inevitably affects vision. Back when the government imposed prohibition on the country, thousands of people went blind due to the use of wood alcohol/methanol in spirits.
The late Dr. Morgan Raiford, a specialist in methanol toxicity, warned about the danger of blindness associated with the consumption of aspartame. “This product [NutraSweet] has some highly toxic reactions in the human visual pathway and we are beginning to observe the tragic damage to the optic nerve, such as blindness, partial to total optic nerve atrophy.
Once this destructive process has developed there is no return of visual restoration,” Raiford wrote in an aspartame factsheet. “When this drug enters the digestive tract, largely the upper portion [the] aspartame molecule spins off a by product known as methanol or methyl-alcohol.”
Methanol “is an extremely powerful neurotoxin. It can produce blindness, it can produce cellular destruction in the brain and spinal cord in particular the optic nerves that has to do with our vision,” the neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock explained during a radio interview. In his book, Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life, Dr. Blaylock discusses a study explaining why diabetics who drink large amounts of aspartame drinks are more likely to go blind. Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness.
In addition to blindness, a report produced by the Department of Health and Human Services lists over 90 symptoms related to aspartame, including: migraine headaches, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain. The following chronic illnesses are triggered or worsened by ingesting aspartame: Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
It is now estimated that over 6,000 food and drink products worldwide contain aspartame. “You might be surprised to learn about some of the foods you consume that contain aspartame. Besides the obvious products like diet sodas, there are many brands of chewing gum that contain aspartame. Most non-fat diet foods contain an amount of aspartame and the same goes for most sugar-free candy,” reports the FoodFacts website. Many brands of cereal, ice cream, yogurt, iced tea, powdered power drinks, nutritional bars, pudding, vegetable drinks, and many more food products contain aspartame.
In addition to neurologic, psychologic, eye, endocrine, and metabolic problems associated with aspartame consumption, there is another problem — addiction. “Persons consuming large amounts not only may suffer aspartame disease, but also have difficulty stopping them because of violent and prolonged withdrawal reactions… the hallmark of addiction,” writes H. J. Roberts, M.D., of St. Mary’s Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach. “Recovered alcoholic patients repeatedly stated that they felt worse after avoiding aspartame than alcohol, and asserted that they had traded one addiction for another.”
It is dangerous to kick aspartame addiction cold turkey. Doctors and nutritionists recommend a 30 day regime of slowly eliminating the toxin from the body.
Earlier this year, Glenn Beck talked about eugenics on his show, but he only scratched the surface. There is a mountain of evidence confirming that the globalists are cynical eugenicists. They are now using food as a soft kill weapon to reduce the population of the planet.
“People the world over, but especially in the United States are under chemical attack,” Alex Jones and Aaron Dykes wrote in July. “Deadly and dangerous toxins ranging from aspartame to fluoride, GMO, mercury-tainting, pesticides, cross-species chimeras, plastic compounds in chicken, high fructose corn syrup, cloned meat, rBGH and new aggressive GM species of salmon have all entered into our diets and environments — whether we want it or not.”
Food is a weapon and Glenn Beck is a victim.
Glenn Beck routinely attracts millions of viewers every week. If he understands his medical problems may be directly linked to aspartame and he informs his audience of this, it will be a major victory for truth and a massive defeat for the elite eugenicists and their long held plan to not only enslave humanity, but reduce its numbers significantly.
