The British Daily Mail published a stunning admission by “US officials” that Israel is indeed funding, training, arming, and working directly with US State Department listed terrorist organization, the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, also known as Mujahedeen e-Khalq (MEK).

The Daily Mail article states, “U.S. officials confirmed today that Israel has been funding and training Iranian dissidents to assassinate nuclear scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear program.” The article continues by claiming, “Washington insiders confirmed there is a close relationship between Mossad and MEK, according to NBC, but said the U.S. was not involved.”

Of course, this is an overt lie, exposed by 3-4 years of documented collaboration between the United States and MEK, including an extensive conspiracy formulated within US policy think-tank Brookings Institution’s 2009 “Which Path to Persia?” report, proposing to fully arm, train, and back MEK as it waged a campaign of armed terror against the Iranian people.

In their report, they openly conspire to use what is an admitted terrorist organization as a “US proxy” (emphasis added):

“Perhaps the most prominent (and certainly the most controversial) opposition group that has attracted attention as a potential U.S. proxy is the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), the political movement established by the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq). Critics believe the group to be undemocratic and unpopular, and indeed anti-American.

In contrast, the group’s champions contend that the movement’s long-standing opposition to the Iranian regime and record of successful attacks on and intelligence-gathering operations against the regime make it worthy of U.S. support. They also argue that the group is no longer anti-American and question the merit of earlier accusations. Raymond Tanter, one of the group’s supporters in the United States, contends that the MEK and the NCRI are allies for regime change in Tehran and also act as a useful proxy for gathering intelligence. The MEK’s greatest intelligence coup was the provision of intelligence in 2002 that led to the discovery of a secret site in Iran for enriching uranium.

Further warnings that Israel will attack Iran emerged during the Munich security conference this past weekend. Analysts said Israel will likely attack in June or July, well ahead of the U.S. presidential elections.

According to a report posted by the Inter Press Service, experts on foreign relations believe Israel’s attack on Iran will seek to influence U.S. presidential elections in November.

Francois Heisbourg, president of the French International Institute for Strategic Studies, said if Israel conducts an attack during the summer before the elections, it will not fear “any immediate political consequences, since none of the U.S. candidates would dare to oppose the attack during the campaign.”

The Man Behind Gingrich’s Money

The trip to Jordan by a group of United States congressmen was supposed to be a chance for them to meet the newly crowned King Abdullah II. But their tour guide had a more complicated agenda.

The guide was Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino magnate who helped underwrite trips to the Middle East to win support for Israel in Congress. On this occasion in 1999, as the lawmakers enjoyed a reception at the Royal Palace in Amman, Mr. Adelson and an aide retreated to a private room with the king.

There, the king listened politely as Mr. Adelson sat on a sofa and paged through his proposal for a gambling resort on the Jordan-Israel border to be called the Red Sea Kingdom.

“This was shortly after his father, King Hussein, died, and he was grateful to me,” Mr. Adelson explained later in court testimony, recalling that he had lent his plane when the ailing monarch sought treatment in the United States. “So they remembered.”

The proposal never went anywhere — Mr. Adelson later said he had feared that a Jewish-owned casino on Arab land “would have been blown to smithereens.” But his impromptu pitch to the Jordanian king highlights the boldness, if not audacity, that has propelled Mr. Adelson into the ranks of the world’s richest men and transformed him into a powerful behind-the-scenes player in American and international politics.

Those qualities may also help explain why Mr. Adelson, 78, has decided to throw his wealth behind what had once seemed to be the unlikely presidential aspirations of Newt Gingrich. Now, in no small measure because of Mr. Adelson’s deep pockets, Mr. Gingrich is locked in a struggle with Mitt Romney heading into Florida’s Republican primary on Tuesday.

Is There A Zionist Plot Against Ron Paul?

Ron Paul, a popular Southern conservative who supports states’ rights, supposedly came in fourth place in the South Carolina Republican primary on Saturday, January 21. The winner, according to the tally produced by the privately-owned voting machine company ES&S, was Newt Gingrich. Gingrich is supported by Sheldon Adelson, the Zionist casino billionaire who supports the most extreme hard-liners in the right-wing Likud in Israel. The Gingrich campaign received a $5 million donation from Sheldon Adelson the week before he “won” the South Carolina primary. Gingrich calls the indigenous Palestinian population an “invented” people and supports Israel’s right to attack Iran as “self defense”. Gingrich told CNN he would help Israel attack Iran and would move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem on his first day in office by executive order. These are the hard-line positions Adelson is paying Gingrich to espouse.

Mitt Romney is supported by the Crown family of Chicago, a Zionist family that is closely connected to Israeli military intelligence. Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, is supported by Sheldon Adelson, a Zionist billionaire who works closely with the same people. Are these different factions or is this a Zionist plot that has the same goal?

The Zionist strategy is to stop the very popular conservative Ron Paul. Because there is obviously no candidate that can beat Paul in popularity or on the issues, the Zionists are supporting a slew of venal candidates in order to steal as many votes as possible from Paul. These candidates are essentially a gang of Zionist-funded candidates who form the anti-Paul coalition. Using privately-owned and controlled electronic voting systems like ES&S, the South Carolina primary shows how the Zionists plan to block Ron Paul from being the Republican nominee …

From this event, one can state as fact – not theory, that Israel and its supporters in the US are actively working to derail Ron Paul’s race towards the GOP nomination, and the Presidency. This fact alone, should be cause for alarm from even the most moderate of public corridors. Should a foreign country, in this case Israel, be allowed to buy a significant influence through the media in American democratic elections? Should candidates be allowed to accept donations – even indirectly, from foreign interest PACs or agents thereof, thus creating a serious conflict of interest, and threat to national security?

After two weeks, the Republican Party of Iowa released its certified tally of the January 3 caucus. The certified final tally released on January 18 indicates that Mitt Romney did not win the Iowa caucus and that the results had been manipulated to give Romney the important first victory. The scale of the fraud in the Iowa caucus is so large that it suggests that there was a hidden hand manipulating the data from across the state as it was sent to party headquarters to give the victory to Romney. This suggests that the people behind Romney are likely to be the people behind the vote fraud, i.e. Lester Crown, Israeli intelligence, and the Zionist Fifth Column in the United States.

Two weeks ago, Iranians were saved from pirates on their hijacked ship by the U.S. Navy. Last week, the U.S. military saved a sinking ship in the Persian Gulf. It’s too bad that will not be enough goodwill to stop the coming Iran war. Headlines in the last few weeks look like a stark warning for a coming conflict. The West, spearheaded by America, is putting into place tougher sanctions that will target Iran’s financial and oil interests. Tension has been increasing by the week over the nuclear program that Iran steadfastly claims is for the peaceful production of energy. New sanctions will be fully implemented in about six months.

Iran has threatened to shut the Strait of Hormuz if sanctions are carried out. Iran has also warned Gulf oil producers against boosting production if an embargo stops or slows oil from the region. (Click here for more on this story.) The U.S. has warned Iran against any action to close this narrow shipping passage where up to 40% of the world’s oil passes every year. The Pentagon has flatly said it will not allow that to happen. Meanwhile, the U.S. has warned Israel not to attack Iran. The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend, “U.S. defense leaders are increasingly concerned that Israel is preparing to take military action against Iran, over U.S. objections, and have stepped up contingency planning to safeguard U.S. facilities in the region in case of a conflict. President Barack Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and other top officials have delivered a string of private messages to Israeli leaders warning about the dire consequences of a strike. The U.S. wants Israel to give more time for the effects of sanctions and other measures intended to force Iran to abandon its perceived efforts to build nuclear weapons.” (Click here for the complete WSJ report.)

High ranking Israeli government officials are reportedly frustrated the U.S. is not moving faster to thwart Iran’s nuclear program. Reuters reported yesterday, “Moshe Yaalon, Israel’s vice prime minister, contrasted the administration’s posture to that of France and Britain, which he said ‘are taking a very firm stand and understand sanctions must be imposed immediately. In the United States, the Senate passed a resolution, by a majority of 100-to-one, to impose these sanctions, and in the U.S. administration there is hesitation for fear of oil prices rising this year, out of election-year considerations. In that regard, this is certainly a disappointment, for now.’ Yaalon told Israel Radio.” (Click here to read the complete Reuters story.)

Lessons in American History: Scapegoating – Iran is Not the Real Target

Veterans Today

By Gordon Duff

Some time ago, during the Clinton administration, I learned that a group of Israeli/American extremists in Washington were planning on forcing the US to invade Iran.

Some of these people worked with friends in the White House, some being taped by the FBI tied to spying by their closest associates, spying on the US, nuclear secrets and such, secrets passed on by Israel to China.

As soon as Bush took office, friends at every agency told me they were being asked to submit falsified intelligence about weapons programs in Iraq and terrorist cells in both Iraq and Iran. They said the orders came from the president’s national security advisor who was planning a war on Iraq.

Other friends, some at the highest levels of government, Reagan onward, now working as lobbyists, told me a pattern was emerging and that war was coming.

All were good friends of Israel, some had visited many times, some actually headed pro-Israeli organizations in the US.

Even friends in Israel, folks on the military side, warned that things were getting out of control in America. “Duff, we have some crazy suckers here but the gang you guy are stuck with all belong in straitjackets.”

Maybe the Inmates Are Running the Asylum

They told me that Republican lobbying organizations were being approached by Islamic charities.

The charities had a history of working for the CIA during the long war against the Soviets in Afghanistan and were still active in trying to put things back together with the millions of refugees who remained in Pakistan and the total destruction of the economy in Afghanistan.

The new Taliban government wasn’t helping with their bizarre religious practices and extreme hostility toward both the US and Pakistan.

The story was that Karl Rove had ordered US Attorney’s to target Muslims, including dozens of top CIA assets, for arrest as terrorists. You can imagine the confusion that began to cause around Washington.

Those who work the region, I am one of those, know to what degree the US got involved in long term tribal and ethnic hostilities in Afghanistan and the horrible mess we left when we simply walked away.

The CIA created the Taliban when it could have been something very different. We left a vacuum which was filled by India with their intrigues in Kashmir and their desire to foment terrorism in Pakistan.

U.S. To Leave Iraqi Airspace Clear For Strategic Israeli Route To Iran

The Washington Times

By Rowan Scarborough

“Isn’t it sad that virtually every war is about religion? Why does anyone care what the other person believes? If it works for them, great. Get over it.”

The U.S. military’s fast-approaching Dec. 31 exit from Iraq, which has no way to defend its airspace, puts Israel in a better place strategically to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Iraq has yet to assemble a force of jet fighters, and since the shortest route for Israeli strike fighters to Iran is through Iraqi airspace, observers conclude that the U.S. exit makes the Jewish state’s mission planning a lot easier.

Army Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, the top U.S. military spokesman in Iraq, said the Iraqi military will maintain radars to monitor the country’s airspace, but it has not taken possession of American F-16s to guard that space.

“The country has a capable and improving capability to see the airspace, a viable system to provide command and control, but no system to defeat incoming air threats until it gets either the F-16s or ground-based systems or, optimally, some of both,” Gen. Buchanan told The Washington Times.

Iraq made the first payment in September for 18 F-16s that will not arrive until next fall at the earliest. This means Israel would have a theoretical window of about 12 months if it wants to fly over Iraq unimpeded by the Iraqi air force.

Retired Air ForceGen. Thomas McInerney, who advocates a U.S. strategic bombing raid to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites, agreed that Iraq’s open airspace would make it easier for an Israeli mission.

Israel will attack Iran’s nuclear facilities as soon as next month, according to a British Foreign Office official quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper, raising the prospect of a new crisis in the region before Christmas.
UK Foreign Office: Israel Expected To Attack Iran Next Month naderian20101109222321920

“We’re expecting something as early as Christmas, or very early in the new year,” the source is quoted as saying, adding that the Israelis will attack Iran’s nuclear sites “sooner rather than later”.

The source ruled out UK involvement, suggesting that even if Iran acquired the bomb it would not dare use it, adding, “The bigger concern is it will be impossible to stop Saudi Arabia and Turkey from developing their own weapons.”

The revelation came one week after British chief of staff, Gen. Sir David Richards paid a secret visit to Israel which was followed the next day by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak visiting London for talks with British military chiefs.

While some news outlets noted that the Mail’s links with intelligence circles gave the source some credibility, others like YNet, the website for Israel’s most widely read newspaper, largely dismissed the claim as “questionable”.

As we previously reported, the window of opportunity for an attack before Iran moves the bulk of its nuclear processing equipment underground is quickly evaporating.

Why Did Obama Give Bunker-Buster Bombs to Israel?

Yahoo News

By: Laura Rozen

In late 2009, the Obama administration transferred 55 so-called bunker-buster bombs to Israel. The 5,000-pound bombs conceivably put Israel in the position to attack Iran’s buried nuclear facilities–or to target Hezbollah’s buried bunkers in Lebanon.

The revelation, first reported by Newsweek’s Eli Lake Friday, received independent confirmation via a sensitive U.S. diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks last month.

In a November 2009 meeting among senior American and Israeli military and diplomatic officials, “both sides . . . discussed the upcoming delivery of GBU-28 bunker busting bombs to Israel, noting that the transfer should be handled quietly to avoid any allegations that the USG [U.S. government] is helping Israel prepare for a strike against Iran,” the leaked Nov. 18, 2009 U.S. cable states. ThinkProgress’s Ali Ghraib first reported on the U.S. cable, which WikiLeaks released in August.

Israel had earlier requested the deep-penetrating bombs from the Bush administration, Lake reported. But according to Lake’s report, Bush had refused the Israeli request, not wanting to give Israel a “green light” to bomb Iran. (However, another leaked U.S. cable discusses Israeli media reports suggesting that the Bush administration transferred an earlier shipment of GBU-28 bombs to Israel, in 2005. “All media continued coverage of the forthcoming arms sale by the U.S. of GBU-28 bombs to Israel,” an unclassified April 2005 U.S. diplomatic states.)

American policymakers had–and indeed have–many reasons to be wary of Israel initiating a confrontation with Iran–chief among them the roughly 150,000 American troops the United States currently has deployed on either side of Iran in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other forces and assets assigned to bases in Qatar, Bahrain and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf region.

So why has the Obama administration seemingly reversed that call? After all, the Obama White House has sought to curtail Iran’s nuclear program through diplomatic and economic measures–and the export of 5,000-pound bunker buster bombs to Israel would seem to severely test Israeli patience for that slow and frustrating effort. And, secondly, why is the information emerging now–nearly two years after the administration carried out the deal?

Some policy observers suggest that the U.S. military under Obama was trying to “hug Israel close,” in order to increase its feeling of security and thus hopefully stave off the prospect that Israel might launch a surprise strike on Iran on its own, thereby wreaking all sorts of havoc with U.S. military and diplomatic initiatives in the region.

The reported transfer may have been a “gesture” by the Obama White House “to assure the Israelis we love them,” one Washington Iran expert who insisted on anonymity told The Envoy via email. Still, he confessed that he still found the ultimate motivation behind the transfer mystifying.

It’s also worth noting that the pending U.S. transfer of 5,000-lb. bunker buster bombs occurred at a Nov. 18, 2009 meeting of American and Israeli officials — approximately a week before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a ten-month partial freeze on Jewish settlement building in the West Bank that the Obama administration had sought.

As to the timing of the revelation, while some observers have suggested that American officials may have leaked it in order to burnish Obama’s pro-Israel credentials as he faces a tough 2012 presidential campaign, Lake himself, in an in an interview with NPR Saturday, discounted a political motivation for his initial sources. Lake also said on Twitter that Obama White House officials were not among the U.S. and Israeli sources for his story. (Nevertheless, some Democratic Congressional staff sources have eagerly circulated the Lake story, seemingly seeking to beat back the Republican narrative that Obama has not demonstrated sufficient love and support for the Jewish state.)

The simpler explanation may in this case be the more compelling one: American and Israeli officials initiated the disclosure of the information now to send a potent warning to Iran.

Such a message would be well timed, in view of other recent developments in the Iranian nuclear effort. Last month, Tehran announced that it had started moving nuclear centrifuges to a buried underground facility in Qom. American officials have been concerned that as Iran proceeds with transferring its enrichment program from its current Natanz facility to the underground Qom facility, Israel might choose to launch a preventive strike aimed at thwarting Iran’s nuclear initiative before it becomes harder to target at the buried Fordo facility near Qom.

The Obama “administration is interested in sending message to the Iranians that we have lots of things we can do that are tougher, … [that it] can ratchet up the pressure on Iran,” suggested Patrick Clawson, an Iran expert at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, in an interview with The Envoy Monday. “The administration may be lifting its skirt a little bit to show some ankle.”

(And in actuality, Israel has received earlier shipments of U.S. bunker buster bombs, analysts said. For instance, the Bush Defense Department announced in 2008 plans to sell 1,000 GBU-39 smart bunker buster bombs to Israel, “to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability,” according to an Associated Press report. However, Israeli analysts said at the time that the smaller, 250-pound, precision GBU-39 bombs were more useful against buried arsenals in Lebanon and Gaza–not Iran. “You would need something a lot heavier,” former Israeli military strategic planner Shlomo Brom told the AP. “The GBU-39 can penetrate 6 feet of concrete, and 6 feet is not enough” for targeting Iran’s buried nuclear facilities, he said. By contrast, analysts note that the bunker busters reportedly transferred in the 2009 Obama deal are 5,000-pound bombs, with much deeper penetration capacities.)

Could the disclosure now that Israel has the means to strike Iran’s underground nuclear facilities change Iran’s nuclear decision-making calculus? It’s hard to know with any certainty, given that so many factors that might influence such a decision are still very much in play.

But in a meeting with journalists in New York last week, attended by The Envoy, Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did not discount the possibility of an Israeli strike–and he warned harshly against it.

“The Zionists are quite eager to be able to damage the security of Iran,” Ahmadinejad said through a translator at the Sept. 22 lunch with journalists, using “Zionists” to refer to the Israeli government. “It’s their ultimate dream to be able to transgress against Iran. Certainly know Iran’s response will be quite hard and it will be regretful for them. We assure everyone we will defend ourselves. I hope they avoid that fatal mistake.”

Message delivered–and received?
