A National Debt Of $14 Trillion? Try $211 Trillion

When Standard & Poor’s reduced the nation’s credit rating from AAA to AA-plus, the United States suffered the first downgrade to its credit rating ever. S&P took this action despite the plan Congress passed this past week to raise the debt limit.
The downgrade, S&P said, “reflects our opinion that the fiscal consolidation plan that Congress and the administration recently agreed to falls short of what, in our view, would be necessary to stabilize the government’s medium-term debt dynamics.”
It’s those medium- and long-term debt problems that also worry economics professor Laurence J. Kotlikoff, who served as a senior economist on President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers. He says the national debt, which the U.S. Treasury has accounted at about $14 trillion, is just the tip of the iceberg.
“We have all these unofficial debts that are massive compared to the official debt,” Kotlikoff tells David Greene, guest host of weekends on All Things Considered. “We’re focused just on the official debt, so we’re trying to balance the wrong books.”
Kotlikoff explains that America’s “unofficial” payment obligations — like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits — jack up the debt figure substantially.
“If you add up all the promises that have been made for spending obligations, including defense expenditures, and you subtract all the taxes that we expect to collect, the difference is $211 trillion. That’s the fiscal gap,” he says. “That’s our true indebtedness.”
We don’t hear more about this enormous number, Kotlikoff says, because politicians have chosen their language carefully to keep most of the problem off the books.
“Why are these guys thinking about balancing the budget?” he says. “They should try and think about our long-term fiscal problems.”
According to Kotlikoff, one of the biggest fiscal problems Congress should focus on is America’s obligation to make Social Security payments to future generations of the elderly.
“We’ve got 78 million baby boomers who are poised to collect, in about 15 to 20 years, about $40,000 per person. Multiply 78 million by $40,000 — you’re talking about more than $3 trillion a year just to give to a portion of the population,” he says. “That’s an enormous bill that’s overhanging our heads, and Congress isn’t focused on it.”
“We’ve consistently done too little too late, looked too short-term, said the future would take care of itself, we’ll deal with that tomorrow,” he says. “Well, guess what? You can’t keep putting off these problems.”
To eliminate the fiscal gap, Kotlikoff says, the U.S. would have to have tax increases and spending reductions far beyond what’s being negotiated right now in Washington.
“What you have to do is either immediately and permanently raise taxes by about two-thirds, or immediately and permanently cut every dollar of spending by 40 percent forever. The [Congressional Budget Office's] numbers say we have an absolutely enormous problem facing us.”

Food Stamp Use Rises to Record 45.8 Million

Nearly 15% of the U.S. population relied on food stamps in May, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.
The number of Americans using the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — more commonly referred to as food stamps — shot to an all-time high of 45.8 million in May, the USDA reported. That’s up 12% from a year ago, and 34% higher than two years ago.
The program provides monthly benefits to low-income individuals and families, which they can use at stores that accept SNAP benefits.
To qualify for food stamps, an individual’s income can’t exceed $1,174 a month or $14,088 a year — an amount that is 130% of the national poverty level.
The average food stamp benefit was $133.80 per person and $283.65 per household in May.
The highest concentration of food stamp users were in California, Florida, New York and Texas — where more than 3 million residents in each state received food stamps in May.
The rise in food stamp use comes as the U.S. job market continues to sputter, and food prices across the country climb.
Unemployment benefits at risk
But a spike in food stamp users in Alabama may have been responsible for pushing total usage unusually higher in May. Following a series of devastating storms, many residents received disaster assistance under the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the USDA said. Food stamp use in the state surged from 868,813 in April to 1,762,481 in May.
“USDA does not anticipate that trend of increase to continue, given that it appears to represent a response to a single disaster,” the USDA said.

More than 60,000 Americans were sterilised, many against their will, as part of a eugenics movement that finished in 1979, aimed at keeping the poor and mentally ill from having children. Now, decades on, one state is considering compensation.
In 1968, Elaine Riddick was raped by a neighbour who threatened to kill her if she told what happened.
She was 13, the daughter of violent and abusive parents in the desperately poor country town of Winfall, in the US state of North Carolina.
While she was in hospital giving birth, the state violated her a second time, she says.
A social worker who had deemed her “feeble-minded” petitioned the state Eugenics Board to have her sterilised.
Officials coerced her illiterate grandmother into signing an “x” on an authorisation form. After performing a Caesarean section, doctors sterilised her “just like cutting a hog”, she says.
“They killed my kids,” Ms Riddick says. “They killed mine before they got to me. They stopped it.”
Sterilisation in the UK and Europe
While eugenics is now recognised as a pseudoscience – and after the Nazis, one with murderous consequences – it was once a respectable branch of the social sciences.
The term ‘eugenics’, meaning “good birth”, was coined in 1883 by Sir Francis Galton, an English scientist who pushed the University College London to found a department to study the field.
Sir Winston Churchill once called for forced sterilisation of “the feeble-minded and insane classes”.
While eugenic sterilisation never became official policy in the UK – in part due to opposition from the Catholic church – Finland, Norway, and Sweden adopted the sterilisation laws in the 1930s.
Between 1933 and 1945, more than 400,000 Germans were sterilised under Nazi “racial hygiene” laws, according to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Nearly four decades after the last person was sterilised under North Carolina’s eugenics programme, a state task force is seeking the 2,900 victims of sterilisation officials estimate are still alive.
The group hopes to gather their stories and ultimately to recommend the state award them restitution. But with public coffers under severe pressure amid a flagging recovery, it is not clear the legislature will agree.
“I know I can’t make it right but at least I can address it,” said North Carolina state legislator Larry Womble. He hopes “to let the world know what a horrendous thing the government has perpetrated on these young boys and girls”.
America’s sterilisation movement was part of a broad effort to cleanse the country’s population of characteristics and social groups deemed unwanted, an effort that included anti-race mixing and strict immigration quotas aimed at Eastern Europeans, Jews and Italians.
Beginning with Indiana in 1907, 32 states eventually passed laws allowing authorities to order the sterilisation of people deemed unfit to breed. The last programme ended in 1979.
The victims were criminals and juvenile delinquents, women deemed sexual deviants, homosexual men, poor people on welfare, people who were mentally ill or suffered from epilepsy. African Americans and Hispanic Americans were disproportionately targeted in some states.

California Taxpayers Pay Record Amount In Benefits to Children of Illegal Aliens

Los Angeles Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has just released data from the Department of Public Social Services which shows that in November 2010, $53 million in welfare benefits ($22 million CalWORKs and $31 million in Food Stamps) were given issued to illegal aliens for their U.S.-born children in Los Angeles County.
The record amount is an increase of almost $3 million from November 2009, and represents 22 percent of all CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances in L.A. county.
In 2009, CalWORKs and Food Stamp benefits given to illegal aliens totaled almost $570 million. The total amount issued to illegal aliens cost in 2010, is estimated to be well over $600 million.
On Monday, Supervisor Antonovich told reporters: “When you add this to $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year — not including the hundreds of millions of dollars for education.”
In August 2009, Antonovich made public the-then staggering amount which the taxpayers spent on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. In June 2009 alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007.
$26 million of that total came in the form of Food Stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks.That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.
These figures continuously rising amounts explain why not only L.A. County, but the entire state of California are now in financial ruin.
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, then pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for all Americans.
With 20 percent actual unemployment, huge trade deficits due to the loss of our manufacturing base, and a soaring national debt, we simply cannot afford to pay the bills for this nation’s illegal alien population.
If we are to once again find ourselves on firm financial footing, we can no longer accept elected representatives who choose to better represent a foreign national population, rather than those of us who actually pay their salaries.
Illegal immigration is slowly but surely destroying this nation.

Deadly Disease Outbreaks Double Within Last Decade

Dengue outbreaks are now a major threat to global public health.
The UN health agency warned that unless countries act now then the situation will only get worse.
Two fifths of the world’s population are at risk of the disease, with the majority living in the Asia Pacific region.
Cases double
Dengue is a serious flu-like illness that is transmitted by mosquitoes, and can develop into dengue haemorrhagic fever, which can be fatal.
The disease is spread by the aedes aegypti mosquito.
The WHO has warned that the increased number and size of dengue outbreaks in some countries in the Western Pacific region, as well as cases recorded in previously unaffected areas, are signs that firmer action cannot be delayed.
The WHO’s regional director for the Western Pacific, Dr Shin Young-soo, said:
“National resources need to be mobilized to sustain dengue prevention and control, and the disease’s profile needs to be raised on the global health agenda to stimulate the interest of international agencies and donors.
“The fight against this disease is everybody’s problem.”
The number of cases in the Western Pacific Region has more than doubled over the past 10 years.
There has been a significant increase in many countries this year alone.
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Philippines appear to be particularly affected.
2.5 billion at risk
Two-fifths of the world’s population is at risk of the disease.
Out of these 2.5 billion people, more than 70% live in Asia Pacific countries.
The warning was delivered at the WHO’s Regional Committee for the Western Pacific.
The increased number of outbreaks may be caused by a number of factors; including higher temperatures and rainfall which produce perfect breeding conditions for the mosquitoes that carry the disease.
Growing populations, particularly in cities, and greater international travel by infected individuals could also explain the rise.
The WHO says there is as yet no clear evidence that the increase in cases was due to global warming.
But changes in climate do affect mosquitoes which spread the disease.
At a local level eliminating breeding sites like water jars, building sites and discarded garbage is essential in reducing the number of mosquitoes.
But a concerted international effort is vital, with urban planning and improving sanitation essential to reducing the number of dengue cases.

Get Your Flu Shot at a Strip Club!

As predicted, the great flu shot charade is now well upon us in North America, with vaccine pushers urging everyone to hurry up and go get vaccinated. But this year, they’ve upped the desperation of their tactics. That’s because people are waking up and actively refusing a vaccine shot that scientifically produces no benefits while actually weakening the immune system and causing increased susceptibility to future infections.
In Louisiana, they’ve turned a stadium into a flu shot injection processing center, hoping to rally tens of thousands to go there and get vaccinated. Only 670 people actually showed up.
In Polk County, Iowa, they’ve unveiled a flu shot drive-through clinic, where health officials have excitedly announced “people who receive vaccinations won’t have to get out of their cars.” Because, of course, actually getting out of your car is apparently too much to ask from the kind of people who line up to be vaccinated in the first place.
All across the mainstream media this week, newspapers and websites are screaming about how pregnant women must be vaccinated because “it helps the baby.” What they don’t tell you is that vaccines cause miscarriages, so you might technically call vaccines “abortion injections.” This supports Bill Gates’ desire to use vaccines to reduce the global population.
But the real winner in all this vaccine nonsense is Casselberry, Florida, where flu vaccine pushers have turned a strip club into a vaccination headquarters. If you’re a resident of the city, you get a flu vaccine shot for free! There’s no lap dance included. You have to pay extra for that.
They say sex sells everything. I guess that now includes vaccines.
The illegal marketing of vaccines
Virtually all flu vaccine marketing is illegal, by the way, because it makes false and misleading promises that simply aren’t backed up by the science. Vaccines are routinely marketed with the idea that they may “save your life” or “prevent you from missing work days.” The entire implied message with vaccines is that they will “prevent you from catching the flu.”
As it turns out, however, all of these marketing messages are false. None of them have been supported by anything resembling solid science, and once you peel back the veil of disinformation being broadcast by the CDC and various health authorities, you quickly discover that there’s nothing backing vaccines other than pure marketing puffery and medical mythology.
Each winter, most of the people who get sick from the flu are the very same people who got vaccinated. During last year’s H1N1 scare, twenty percent of those who died from H1N1 infections were the very same people who got vaccinated against H1N1! (And the other 80 percent were all vitamin D deficient.)
It doesn’t take much research to reveal that the entire vaccine agenda is a grand fraud being perpetrated on the American people.
No wonder the vaccine pushers have to turn to strip clubs, vaccine giveaways and drive-through injection clinics to lure people into taking these vaccines. They don’t have any actual science backing their agenda, so they have to resort to cheap sex gimmicks and dishonest marketing that tricks people into believing falsehoods.
What’s especially interesting about all this is that even while the vaccine industry can get away with the fraudulent marketing of its products, the FTC and FDA actively target natural product companies that tell the truth! So it’s legal in America to lie about the supposed benefits of a vaccine, but it’s illegal to tell the truth about the health benefits of a natural food or nutritional supplement. No wonder we’re all so sick in America…
So a maker of a vitamin D supplement isn’t allowed to say that vitamin D protects you from the flu far better than vaccines even though it’s absolutely true. But a vaccine manufacturer can claim a vaccine will save your life, even though that’s blatantly false.
This is how the government colludes with Big Pharma to effectively experiment on the American people. Meanwhile, Big Pharma keeps getting caught committing science fraud virtually every week.
Don’t become a vaccine zombie

A vaccine zombie is a person who forgets how to think for themselves and just does whatever the “health authorities” tell them to do, even if doing such things might be medically useless or cause neurological damage. All those people you see lining up to get vaccine shots are vaccine zombies.
If they had any brains left at all, they’d be lining up to buy vitamin D supplements or take immune-boosting herbs. Or they’d be buying and consuming mineral-rich superfoods that contain the nutrients your body needs to fight off infectious disease without chemical intervention. But unfortunately, vaccines often cause brain damage (because of the inflammatory adjuvant chemicals they use), and this brain damages reduces the ability of people to make intelligent decisions. Once they’re dumbed down, they’re easy prey for each year’s subsequent vaccine propaganda push.
You don’t need vaccines to prevent the flu
I haven’t received a flu shot in so long, I can’t even remember the last time I got one. It was probably in grade school. And yet, due to my choices in vitamins and supplements, the last time I got sick from the flu was so many years ago that I can’t even remember when it happened. People with high vitamin D levels almost never get sick from the flu, even without dangerous vaccine injections.
If you really want to prevent the flu and save your own life, turn to nutrition, not an injection. That’s what will save your life and keep you healthy.

Vaccines Useful For Population Reduction

In a recent TED conference presentation, Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, who has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to new vaccine efforts, speaks on the issue of CO2 emissions and its effects on climate change. He presents a formula for tracking CO2 emissions as follows: CO2 = P x S x E x C.
P = People
S = Services per person
E = Energy per service
C = CO2 per energy unit
Then he adds that in order to get CO2 to zero, “probably one of these numbers is going to have to get pretty close to zero.”
Following that, Bill Gates begins to describe how the first number — P (for People) — might be reduced. He says:
“The world today has 6.8 billion people… that’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”
Reducing the world population through vaccines
This statement by Bill Gates was not made with any hesitation, stuttering or other indication that it might have been a mistake. It appears to have been a deliberate, calculated part of a well developed and coherent presentation.
So what does it mean when Bill Gates says “if we do a really great job on new vaccines… we could lower [world population] by 10 or 15 percent?”
Clearly, this statement implies that vaccines are a method of population reduction. So is “health care,” which all NaturalNews readers already know to be more of a “sick care” system that actually harms more people than it helps.
Perhaps that’s the whole point of it. Given that vaccines technology help almost no one from a scientific point of view, it raises the question: For what purpose are vaccines being so heavily pushed in the first place?
Bill Gates seems to be saying that one of the primary purposes is to reduce the global population as a mechanism by which we can reduce CO2 emissions.
How can vaccines actually be used to reduce world population?
Let’s conduct a mental experiment on this issue. If vaccines are to be used to reduce world population, they obviously need to be accepted by the majority of the people. Otherwise the population reduction effort wouldn’t be very effective.
And in order for them to be accepted by the majority of the people, they obviously can’t just kill people outright. If everybody started dropping dead within 24 hours of receiving the flu shot, the danger of vaccines would become obvious rather quickly and the vaccines would be recalled.
Thus, if vaccines are to be used as an effective population reduction effort, there are really only three ways in which they might theoretically be “effective” from the point of view of those who wish to reduce world population:
#1) They might kill people slowly in a way that’s unnoticeable, taking effect over perhaps 10 – 30 years by accelerating degenerative diseases.
#2) They might reduce fertility and therefore dramatically lower birth rates around the world, thereby reducing the world population over successive generations. This “soft kill” method might seem more acceptable to scientists who want to see the world population fall but don’t quite have the stomach to outright kill people with conventional medicine. There is already evidence that vaccines may promote miscarriages.
#3) They might increase the death rate from a future pandemic. Theoretically, widespread vaccination efforts could be followed by a deliberate release of a highly virulent flu strain with a high fatality rate. This “bioweapon” approach could kill millions of people whose immune systems have been weakened by previous vaccine injections.
