Sorry Invisible Children, but you’ve found out the hard way: the Internet has the attention span of a 2-year-old child watching paint dry in a library. Simply put, we’re always looking for something new to draw our interest. And while Kony 2012 became the most successful viral video ever created, Kony 2012: Part II has not found the voracious audience of the first film, garnering just 1% of the views of its predecessor so far. In its first week, Part II was watched 1.6 million times.
The total pales in comparison to the original Kony 2012, which earned 112 million views in its first week online, and over its five-week run it has notched up more than 180 million views. That’s a staggering tally for a half-hour-long, documentary-style video about a part of the world many have never even heard of before. Sure, the view count has tapered off significantly in the past few weeks, but it’s still far more successful than the sequel ever will be.

Austan Goolsbee has had a long and close relationship with Barack Obama. He advised Obama in his 2004 Senate race, and was the senior economic adviser throughout the 2008 Obama presidential campaign. After that, he served as Chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisers from September 9, 2010 until August 5, 2011.
In addition to his memorable political life, Mr. Goolsbee has also had a notable time within the secret society Skull & Bones. According to The Yale Daily News, Goolsbee was part of an important and influential chapter in Bones history. Notably, 1991 class was the first to tap women initiates.
His life as a Skull and Bones member is not a thing of the past. During his time as the senior economic adviser, Mr. Goolsbee chaired a meeting with other Bonesmen inside the White House. The meeting was never publicized, although White House records show that it took place. Meeting and details of the meeting are unavailable; and, unsurprisingly, those who attended the meeting will not talk about it.
Late afternoon on March 4, 2011, eight college students arrived at the White House to meet with Mr. Goolsbee. All eight were all members of Skull and Bones, reports McKay Coppins at BuzzFeed.
How does Coppins know? He says that he cross-checked the White House visitor’s log with leaked names of Skull and Bones members. This isn’t hard to do, because the Ivy League gossip blog IvyGate regularly has the roster leaked to them.
Writes Coppins: “Cross-checking their list with the White House visitor log on March 4 reveals that at least eight members of the 2010-2011 class were present at the Goolsbee meeting.”
He continues: “According the White House records, the students met with Goolsbee in room 234 of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at around 4:00 p.m., proceeded to a tour of the White House, and then returned their I.D. badges by 5:00pm.”

Western Diet Leads To Allergies In Children

A team of researchers from Florence University in Italy have found that the modern Western diet of high-sugar, low-fiber processed foods is contributing to allergies and other problems not seen in those who eat more primitive diets. According to study results, junk foods alter beneficial gut bacteria, which in turn disrupts normal digestive function.
Compared to children in a small village in Burkina Faso, Africa, who eat primitive diets, children in industrialized countries who consume lots of modern junk food are more prone to allergies, based on study findings. In fact, the bacterial compositions found in junk food-eating children are actually causing obesity, allergies, eczema, inflammation, autoimmune disorders and other illnesses.
Primitive diets composed mostly of cereals, beans, nuts and healthy vegetables — the kind eaten by the African children — help to properly balance gut bacteria. But diets rich in bad fats and processed sugars — the kind eaten by most industrialized children today — disrupt this healthy bacteria and replace it with harmful bacteria.
Interestingly, only industrialized children who were still being breastfed by their mothers had a bacterial composition that even somewhat resembled the composition of what the African children had. The rest had an entirely different bacterial makeup in their systems.
According to the report, gut bacteria is a vital “organ” that processes food, protects the body from disease and inflammation, and maintains health and immunity. When this bacteria is disrupted by regular consumption of bad foods, the floodgates are thrown wide open for disease to proliferate in the body.
“The gastrointestinal microflora plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of [inflammatory bowel disease] IBD and recent studies demonstrate obesity is associated with imbalance in the normal gut microbiota,” researchers explain in their study paper.
