Vaccines Kill Children Every Year

Two children a year die after routine vaccinations, research has shown.

In some cases the Government has awarded parents up to £100,000 under its Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979. In others, post mortem examin ations concluded that the injection was the most likely cause of death.

The figures, compiled by vaccine damage support group Jabs, come in the wake of last month’s decision by the General Medical Council that Dr Andrew Wakefield, who sparked the MMR controversy, acted “dishonestly and irresponsibly”. The research also found that it has become more difficult to get compensation for vaccine damage despite no drop in the number of children being affected.

There were 970 payments made between 1979 and 1994, about 65 a year, to parents of damaged children.

Since then there have been only 28 payments, approximately two successful claims a year. Critics say this is because the criteria for making a claim have become so strict. Peter Fletcher, former chief scientific officer for the Department of Health, is demanding an overhaul of the payment system.

He said: “We need to point out in easy language that vaccines have always had a level of adverse effects.

“However, it is hard to meet the standard of proof to win compensation and awards have been miserly.”

Julie Roberts, 40, whose daughter Stacey died after an MMR jab, said: “The Government should take responsibility. It has never given proper warnings of the risk and still doesn’t despite the evidence.”

Why We Must Oppose The WHO Global Tax Proposals

Corbett Report

By James Corbett

Fresh on the heels of a Dutch investigation into the conflicts of interest of their chief influenza advisor and the bombshell announcement that the Council of Europe will be probing their role in creating and sustaining panic over the recent H1N1 outbreak in order to sell vaccines for Big Pharma, the World Health Organization is now conisdering “innovative” proposals for raising additional revenues, including levying a global tax on internet activity.

The startling revelation comes in a report submitted by an Expert Working Group ahead of the biannual meeting of the WHO’s Executive Board. Tasked with finding a financial mechanism for funding the WHO’s mandate of transfering health technologies to the developing world, the team of bureaucrats and medical researchers have spent the past 14 months developing a variety of suggestions, including:

-A digital tax: “Internet traffic is huge and likely to increase rapidly; this tax could yield tens of billions of US dollars from a broad base of users.”

-A financial transaction tax: “Brazil’s financial transaction tax”[...]set at 0.38% levied on paying bills online and major withdrawals, it was raising an estimate [sic] US$ 20 billion per year and funding some 87% of the Government’s key social protection programme, Bolsa Familia, before it was voted down.”

-An arms trade tax: “a 10% tax on the arms trade market, which might net about US$ 5 billion per annum.”

The funds raised from such schemes—ranging into the tens of billions of dollars depending on which plans are enacted—would be ostensibly used to aid in the transfer of medical technologies to the developing world so that local research, development and production of medicines can be ramped up. It is argued that this is needed to fill the gap left by pharmaceutical companies who have no motivation to produce medicines for areas of the world that can’t afford to pay for them. Additionally, local research and development would allow for the incorporation of local ingredients and traditional medicines in different parts of the globe.

Although these aims are laudable on the surface, such platitudes obscure the underlying reality that the WHO’s plans would amount to nothing more than the latest attempt by the UN to set the precedent for a global tax to fund their stated goal of establishing global governmental structures. On top of that, the WHO itself has recently been exposed as little more than a vehicle for Big Pharma-connected fraudsters to line their own pockets. Add to that the fact that the WHO and other UN-affiliated agencies have been caught sterilizing women without their knowledge or consent in country after country and it quickly becomes apparent that these are no ordinary taxation proposals by misguided do-gooders. On the contrary, these measures if enacted could signal the birth of a UN-administered global eugenics body.

France Cancels Order for Flu Vaccine

France ordered the vaccinations from Sanofi-Pasteur, a unit of Sanofi-Aventis, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Baxter International.

The government estimated 94 million individual shots were needed, thinking that everyone would need two jabs for immunity against the illness.

Doctors now say a single vaccination is sufficient, meaning that France, with a population of some 65 million has a massive oversupply and is already trying to sell on some of the surplus shots it has received.

“I have canceled 50 million doses,” Bachelot said on TF1 television.

“These orders had not been paid for or delivered so they are canceled,” she added.

The Health Ministry said it had originally bought the 94 vaccines at a cost of 869 million euros. Bachelot said the canceled order would save more than 350 million euros.

Opposition politicians have criticized the government, saying it has wasted money and helped drugs companies. Socialist Party spokesman Benoit Hamon said large pharmaceutical firms were “the big winners in this affair.”

A Sanofi-Aventis spokesman said on Monday that the company and the government had started a review of a contract for 28 million vaccine doses before the Christmas holidays.

About half of the doses had been delivered he said but it was premature to comment on the implication of the canceled order for the company. Some five million people in France have so far been vaccinated against H1N1, health officials say.

The flu virus has killed an estimated 198 people on mainland France, according to data released on December 29, but doctors have said new infections have fallen sharply in recent weeks.

France has canceled over half the flu vaccines it ordered to combat the H1N1 flu virus, Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot said on Monday, in an effort to head off criticism after reserving too many shots.

Pharmaceuticals Pushing Vaccines for All Ailments

Natural News

By E. Huff

The growing lull in pharmaceutical sales over the past several years has driven the industry to ramp up its efforts in the vaccine department. Once a dying segment of the drug market, vaccines are back in the limelight as drug manufacturers work tirelessly to make new vaccines for everything from urinary tract infections to Alzheimer’s disease. Many of their newest jabs could reach the market in less than five years.

Five years ago there were only two vaccine manufacturers remaining in America after a mass exodus by drug companies from the vaccine business. Today, drug companies are seeing dollar signs as the pendulum swings in favor of shots for all sorts of diseases. The alleged pandemic swine flu threat, among other things, has also given drug companies the green light to begin heavily producing and marketing vaccines thanks to government grants that support such endeavors.

Since prescription drug sales have been steadily declining, Big Pharma has been frantically looking for new avenues to keep raking in massive profits. Vaccines fit the bill as drug companies can work to create one for every type of ailment known to man. Many existing vaccines are being pushed more heavily upon people as well.

Vaccine sales are expected to double in the next five years, leaping from $19 billion in 2008 to $39 billion in 2013. In 2004, vaccine sales were $8 billion. Part of this growth can be attributed to the government’s ever-increasing list of recommended children’s vaccines. Currently at 17, the list has more than doubled since 1985 and is expected to continue increasing.

Vaccines are also being touted as “preventive medicine,” a rhetorical sleight of hand that makes them sound more appealing to the public. Propaganda campaigns aimed at convincing the public to receive vaccines are also utilized to stir up fear and drive up sales.

Amidst the frenzy to increase the vaccine arsenal, few on the receiving end are questioning whether or not vaccines even work. A 1999 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association admitted that vaccines are not effective at preventing infectious disease deaths in children. On top of this, thousands of people are injured or killed every year from vaccines.

A true preventive approach is one that incorporates well-balanced nutrition with supplemental vitamins and superfoods. This is by far the most effective way to fortify a healthy immune system and protect the body from developing disease.

Cervical Cancer Vaccine ‘Not a Guarantee’

Women’s groups and doctors slammed advertisements issued by two pharmaceutical majors that claimed vaccination against  (HPV) was the best way of preventing cervical cancer.

The objection from Sama Resource Centre for Women and Health and Saheli Women’s Resource Centre to Glaxo-SmithKline (GSK) India and Merck marketing HPV vaccines as a “protection against cervical cancer” comes a few days after the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) also took notice of the advertisements.

In a showcause notice issued to GSK India, the CDSCO cited objections raised by experts who said that the advertisements claiming that a vaccine can prevent cervical cancer were inaccurate and misleading. According to doctors, the drug majors appear to have oversimplified the complexity of cervical cancer and this could mislead consumers.

Researchers also point out that protection from HPV need not always translate into protection from cancer. “The vaccination doesn’t always protect women from cervical cancer because this virus isn’t the only cause of cervical cancer,” said Dr Sidharth Sahni, a surgical oncology consultant at Artemis Health Institute.

The available HPV vaccines protect against only two types of viruses associated with cervical cancer. “There are several types of HPVs associated with cervical cancer, and vaccines have not been proved to be effective against all of them,” said Bhudev Chandra Das, former director of the Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology and now a professor of biomedical research at Delhi University.

Ideally, the HPV vaccine should be administered to adolescent girls. Over the past year, paediatricians across the country have been urging parents of teenagers to administer them this vaccine.

But what many fail to mention is that this should only be given to those who have had no sexual exposure. “We first need to identify the target group for this vaccination,” Sahni added.

Vani Subramaniam of Saheli said the pharmaceutical companies were hiding information about the side effects of the vaccines. According to Anjali Shenoy of Sama, the health lobby should concentrate more on increasing awareness on screening the cancer rather than its vaccines.

AMA Not Pushing Mandatory Flu Vaccinations for Doctors

Amendment News

By Kevin O’ Reilly and Damon Adams

The AMA House of Delegates rejected a proposal to mandate vaccinations for health care professionals but approved other policy to prevent the spread of seasonal flu and influenza A(H1N1).

A resolution by the Infectious Diseases Society of America said the AMA should back universal seasonal and H1N1 flu immunizations unless health professionals have medical contraindications or religious objections. In October, New York state announced that it was requiring all health professionals to get the H1N1 immunization, but the mandate was suspended later that month due to vaccine shortages.

“It is our ethical duty to do no harm and prevent transmission of disease to patients,” said Michael L. Butera, MD, an alternate delegate who spoke on behalf of IDSA. “Despite educational efforts, we have 40% to 70% immunization rates that are woefully inadequate.” Mandates may be “the only way to achieve” the goal of universal vaccination, he said.

But delegates balked at the idea of a vaccination mandate, saying that requirements should be a last resort and can be counterproductive if implemented poorly. The house directed the AMA to study the ethical and scientific intricacies of the issue further.

Delegates said hand sanitizer dispensers should be available in well-trafficked areas and urged large gathering places to develop plans in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.

GlaxoSmithKline Tells Canadian Doctors to Stop Using Swine Flu Vaccine

Health officials regularly monitor vaccines for any signs of potential problems, including the occasional allergic reactions that do rarely occur each year.

GlaxoSmithKline spokeswoman Gwenan White said that the pharmaceuticals company advised Canadian medical personnel last week to immediately stop using one specific batch of the vaccine while they proceed with investigations into the cause of the odd number of allergic reactions.

According to the AP, ix people in Canada had suffered an allergic reaction, said Tim Vail, the spokesman for Canada’s health minister. The batch contained about 170,000 doses. It was not immediately clear how many had been administered, although Vail said the majority had been.”

“We’re not seeing any thing wild or spooky or crazy about our vaccine at all,” Vail said.

White said no other doses of the vaccine around the world are part of the vaccines that are to be discontinued..

Swine Flu Vaccines Pulled in Canada due to Allergic Reaction

Canadian doctors have been advised not to use a batch of 170,000 swine flu vaccines after six reports of serious allergic reactions among recipients, but there are no similar reports from other countries, pharmaceuticals company GlaxoSmithKline PLC said Tuesday.

Authorities routinely monitor vaccines for any signals of problems, such as the allergic reactions that do occur, rarely, every year. Company spokeswoman Gwenan White said that GlaxoSmithKline advised medical staff in Canada ast week to refrain from using one batch of the vaccine while they look into reports that that it might have caused more allergic reactions than normal.

Six people in Canada had suffered an allergic reaction, said Tim Vail, the spokesman for Canada’s health minister. The batch contained about 170,000 doses. It was not immediately clear how many had been administered, although Vail said the majority had been.

“We’re not seeing any thing wild or spooky or crazy about our vaccine at all,” Vail said, arguing it may have been a statistical anomaly that the reactions occurred.

GlaxoSmithKline is only investigating the one batch of its swine flu vaccine in Canada. White said no other doses of its swine flu vaccine around the world are affected.

White said U.K.-based GlaxoSmithKline wrote to Canadian health care professionals advising them to stop using the batch on Nov. 18. She says a total of 7.5 million doses of the vaccine have been distributed in Canada.

Dr. Joel Kettner, Manitoba’s chief medical officer of health has said they are being cautious and are following the advice. He urged people not to be alarmed, saying that any allergic reactions occur shortly after inoculation, don’t last long and have not led to long-term health problems.

The provincial Alberta government was also holding back the vaccine, although it had not seen a jump in reactions.

GlaxoSmithKline is the world’s second largest drug maker by revenue. Its shares were up 0.08 percent on the London stock exchange at 1,278.50p ($21.19)
