Fast Food America: Hospitals Serving Up McDonald’s to Patients

“If you want to get sick, just go to a hospital.” –KTRN
It is no surprise that fast food is extremely unhealthy. On one level, the processed junk food lacks essential vitamins and nutrients, while they are also concocted with numerous health-hazardous substances and chemicals which should not be found in food — let alone be eaten.
Knowing this information, it is no wonder why you should avoid fast food at all costs. It is safe to say that no healthy individual would or should be consuming fast food, and certainly no sick individuals who are depleted of nutrients (as a result of avoiding real food) should be consuming it either.
So what in the world are fast food chains like McDonald’s doing in places like hospital cafeterias?
It is commonly said that if you want to get sick you should go to a hospital, but the fact that fast food resides in these ‘health’ institutions lends even more truth to the humorous statement.
It turns out that some hospitals, such as a hospital in Des Moines, think nothing of the fast food placement. Since 1988, the Des Moines hospital has been blessed by a McDonald’s fast food restaurant, and management seems to want no change.
As expected, the hospital has undergone much scrutiny for its decision to host a McDonald’s in its institution, with some of the disapproval coming from nation-wide junk food critic Corporate Accountability International. Asking the hospital to shut down the restaurant, the group said:
Your hospital is being used as part of McDonald’s comprehensive marketing strategy, a strategy that is clearly inconsistent with your goals as a health institution.

Vitamin C – Effective From Colds to Cancer

“Next to vitamin D, C is probably the second most powerful vitamin you can take.” –KTRN
Vitamin C from citrus was introduced a couple of centuries ago as a cure for scurvy rampant among British mariners. But just what is scurvy? Scurvy is actually defined as a deficiency of vitamin C. Its myriad manifestations appear today. It appears that scurvy was not a particular disease, but a condition that led to other diseases.
The difference today is there are many other new names assigned to diseases that are often related to scurvy. This benefits Big Pharma`s bottom line for creating new expensive pharmaceuticals. It`s no surprise that inexpensive Vitamin C`s ability to safely cure maladies from colds to cancer is marginalized by the Medical Mafia.
Dr. Ronald Hunninghake is an internationally recognized expert on vitamin C who has personally supervised more than 60,000 intravenous (IV) vitamin C administrations.

New Chapter Sells Out To Procter & Gamble, Part Of The Global Corporate Elite

“You should no longer buy any products from New Chapter now that the company has sold out to the global corporate elite. They are in it only for the money. Shame on them.” –KTRN
Procter & Gamble, the global corporate conglomerate that sells a vast array of consumer products containing cancer-causing chemicals and petroleum derivatives, is now the proud owner of New Chapter, one of the more promising nutritional supplement companies we’ve seen in a while. New Chapter co-founder Paul Schulick announced, “For us, this has been a dream come true. This is what we have been wanting to do since we started doing this 30 years ago. The world and the United States need this.” (http://www.reformer.com/ci_20194274/p-g-buys-new-chapter?source=most_…)
Really? The world needs global corporate giants to buy up all the natural product brands? Or maybe Paul Schulick just wanted to cash in on all the positive publicity organizations like NaturalNews have selflessly lent him over the years. This is one of the many companies we helped publicize and promote, only to see them sell out to corporate giants who routinely take over these companies, cheapen their product formulations, and exploit name recognition to intentionally mislead consumers into buying watered-down, reformulated products.
So now the same company that brings you Tide laundry detergent, Pringles potato chips, Dawn dishwashing soap, and Bounce dryer sheets (can you even think of a more offensive chemical laundry product?) will be bringing you New Chapter supplements, too.
P&G is the very first corporation to bring you canola oil under the brand name “Puritan.” This was later merged into the Crisco brand of oils, which are all high omega-6 vegetable oils that, for decades, have been touted as being “healthy” even though now we know diets high in omega-6 oils promote cardiovascular inflammation.

FDA To Make Many Prescription Drugs ‘Over the Counter’

“Thanks, FDA – for helping big pharma ruin more people’s lives. You are doing a great a job.” –KTRN
The same organization which deems walnuts to be illegal drugs is in the process of deciding whether or not to make some prescription medications more readily available to the public. The Food and Drug Administration may potentially move medicines for chronic conditions from prescription to non-prescription, or over the counter, while drugs for infection will receive a speedier approval process. This includes diabetes-linked statin drugs.
Despite prescription drugs contributing to at least 3 million deaths in the last 27 years while vitamins have killed none, the FDA is eager to get drugs in patients’ hands even faster. The House Energy and Commerce health subcommittee will assist the FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg and the Agency’s director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research by helping to accelerate approval processes. Drugs for high blood pressure, cholesterol, migraines, and asthma may all be re-classified by the FDA so that individuals can attain them without a prescription. Interestingly, cholesterol drugs, known as statins, have been linked to over 300 different adverse affects while asthma drugs have been shown to lead to more deaths than asthma itself.
The FDA is also very interested in allowing antibiotic makers to conduct tests for the drugs using smaller groups of patients. What’s more, lawmakers are proposing that the approval process for antibiotics also be hastened, while providing incentives to drug makers to develop new antibiotics – seemingly or allegedly to bypass bacterial resistance from the current antibiotic market. Unfortunately, even new antibiotics will only continue to perpetuate diseases scientists fear will be impossible to treat while contributing to numerous health conditions like mental illness by destroying gut health.

Learn How Vitamin D Can Help You Maintain A Healthy Weight

“Is there nothing that Vitamin D can’t do? If you aren’t taking D every day by now, what are you waiting for? It’s ultra cheap. If you buy it in the liquid serum form, a bottle that costs less than $20 will last you more than six months!” –KTRN
The pharmaceutical industry is poised to begin churning out a slew of new diet drugs within the next few years that are sure to come with some very serious side effects, and that may not even work in the first place. But if you are an overweight or obese individual looking for solutions to your weight problem, you may want to skip these up-and-coming “blockbuster” drugs and instead look to vitamin D, as well as to other diet and lifestyle changes, as an effective alternative to losing weight.
According to a recent randomized, controlled trial on vitamin D out of Tehran University in Iran, overweight women receiving regular doses of vitamin D at amounts higher than the typical recommended daily allowance (RDA) fared much better than a placebo group at losing weight. And despite being an observational study, the findings suggest that vitamin D is a causative factor in this accelerated weight loss, rather than a correlative factor.
Among 77 overweight women randomly assigned to receive either 1,000 international units (IU) daily of vitamin D or a placebo, the vitamin D group lost five more pounds than the placebo group after a 12-week trial period. The vitamin D group also experienced improved lipoprotein and cholesterol ratio scores, which confirms a number of other studies that show vitamin D helps to improve cardiovascular health and prevent heart damage.
“Body fat mass was significantly decreased in the vitamin D group more than the placebo group,” wrote their authors in their study abstract, which was published in full in the British Journal of Nutrition. “The findings showed that supplementation with vitamin D2 can significantly improve HDL-cholesterol, apoA-I concentrations (protein component of HDL-cholesterol) and LDL-cholesterol.”

Regular Vitamin And Mineral Supplementation Lowers Colon Cancer Risk More Than Eighty Percent

“Remember to take those vitamins. But not Centrum. Be smart.” –KTRN
Researchers publishing in the Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology (CJPP) have found that a diet enhanced with vitamin and mineral supplementation can lower the risk of developing precancerous colon cancer lesions by up to 84%. Colon cancer is the second most common form of the disease affecting men and women in the US, with nearly 150,000 new diagnoses each year.
Nutrition experts and alternative practitioners understand that cancer is largely a disease caused by poor lifestyle behaviors including a diet lacking an optimal intake of vitamins and minerals. Chronic illnesses including colon cancer are the result of many years and decades of low nutritional status, as support for a healthy immune response is suppressed. Scientists now provide compelling evidence in support of whole-food based vitamin and mineral supplementation to dramatically lower the risk of colorectal cancer.
Vitamin and Mineral Supplements Help Significantly Lower Colorectal Cancer Risk
The study authors used rats that were fed a high fat diet (20% fat intake) for a period of 32 weeks. Rats are commonly used for this type of research because they develop colon cancer polyps and tumors in a manner parallel to humans. The rats were divided into six groups and were subsequently exposed to different combinations of carcinogens and nutritional supplements.
The researchers found that the animals fed a high-fat, low fiber diet and exposed to a carcinogen developed pre-cancerous lesions of the colon along a pathway similar to that found in humans. The group of animals that underwent a similar treatment and diet, but were supplemented with a daily vitamin and mineral supplement showed an 84% reduction in the formation of pre-cancerous lesions and did not develop tumors.
